No no no! the other 337 soldiers are just off on a nice holiday! They’ll be back soon! Really!
That’s about as likely to work as Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure are.
If Ukraine says 107440 Russians have been killed, the number is likely closer to 35,000.
35,000, of course, is a truly colossal loss (and is accompanied by many times more wounded.) That would be FAR more dead than the USSR lost in Afghanistan.
How true. I wonder how many of them actually feared for their lives once the war started? A fair number of the amateur aerial artists didn’t seem to be in any public conflict with Putin that we know of.
I’d heard that they were at a farm upstate, where they could run around with all the dogs that go there.
It’s incredibly hard for most militaries to keep track of their own casualties, much less the enemies. One thing we do know from history is that enemy body counts are usually unreliable. It doesn’t even mean that Ukraine is purposely adding on extra numbers, just taking the higher estimate from every report. " OK, this report says 50-100 dead. That’s 100 in the dead count." Repeat this over time and you will have a really inflated number.
Would never happen, but I’m really wishing the USA would send in the cool Area 51 stuff, whatever it is…just so we can see it
Has anyone mentioned the Die Hard video? The Ukrainian shadethrowing game continues to excel…
I love the shirt.
My dad, who was an RCAF C-47 pilot at the end of the European theatre, described exactly that to me - Italian fighter aircraft doing aerobatics around allied transport aircraft, without actually being a threat.
The whole point of keeping that stuff in Area 51 is so that we don’t know what it looks like. There aren’t enough Neuralyzers to go around.
What an amazing and inspiring story. It worked because the Russian invasion forces didn’t plan for any extensive resistance.
The Russians would bypass some cities that would require extensive resources to take.
just duct-tape that ugly hole up!
I think the F-117 was the last of the “Area 51 stuff”. By now, that location is way too publicized to be of any use other than as a distraction.
There’s always Area 52…
I’m sure there’s something in Warehouse 13 …
I mentioned giving them F-117’s. Just came across this article saying the Air Force wants to keep them around. I thought they were already mothballed.
Most Russians don’t want this war. The more hardship heaped on them the sooner Putin meets his fate.
If you go to “The War Zone” (part of The Drive) and search for F-117, there’s multiple articles about their ongoing use as aggressor jets and stealth targets in training exercises.
I wish this were true but it seems like among the peoples of the world Russians are more disposed towards fatalistic views than most…it’s our lot in life to endure great suffering under the hands of oppressive and cruel leaders. We must trudge on with our heads bowed and persevere… The one time a Russian leader was overthrown in a popular uprising was when Tsar Nicholas II was dumb enough to leave large numbers of disaffected troops stationed near Moscow during WW1. Putin won’t make that mistake.
Many (most?) Americans didn’t want the Vietnam War but a Vietnamese attack on american infrastructure would probably made the war last longer, not less.
I thought it was Ivanova that was Russian, not Zathras.
Yes. Yes. Zathras is used to being beast of burden to other people’s needs. Very sad life. Probably have… very sad death. But… at least there is Symmetry.
It is:
