A friend of mine will be leaving early next month to study abroad in Russia for a semester. A going-away party is being thrown next week, and since I don’t really have money to buy her anything, I thought I might get her some sort of gag gift instead. Since she’s leaving for Russia (St. Petersburg I believe), I was thinking maybe was funny little quips or phrases in Russian, printed out on some nice paper for her. One problem… I don’t speak a lick of Russian (she, obviously, does).
One phrase I’ve thought of is “Toto, we’re not in Oklahoma anymore.”
Please add any you think might be good for a smirk or chuckle, and please include an English translation that I could put on the back to help her out if she gets stuck while deciphering it.
