So, she storms out of the task (which is for the Surreal Lifers to create a single in one day) because Jordan Knight, designated producer, decided to go all pop with the song (like a big jerk, not willing to let Charo or Ryan, who are equally if not more talented than him, participate in that decision). So, Ryan, who we have already seen be an immature self-centered asshole, decides to hold a drama queen moment with all the tears storming off because…
…it’s just like what happened with American Idol.
So, two questions:
Never watched American Idol, nor have heard of Ryan Starr before, nor have a clue about what happened with American Idol that she had a bad experience. Anyone with the gossip?
After protesting so much that Jordan’s song was so ‘pop,’ how the heck did she later start complaining that it was ‘R&B’ and she doesn’t do that either? (Apparently, if she doesn’t sing R O C K, she’ll break.)
Thanks in advance.
Peace.
I was kind of expecting Dave Coulier to be the most normal of the group, but who would’ve thunk, that compared to the other four, Charo is also reckoned to be calm, sober, and bright?
She thinks she is “rock” because she buys her clothes at the rock store at the mall, because she sits in chairs in a “rock” way instead of a normal way like us non-rock suckas, and because she is all about rock. Whereas everyone else is a “popper”, as she described them immediately after losing on American Idol.
If only someone could explain this to her, she might change.
I’ve not watched any show beyond the second or third one but what has Dave Coulier done to make Charo the reasonable one? They both seemed rather level-headed to me the two episodes I saw.
I’d kill the other four though. Especially Brigiette.
I have to admit, I have stumbled across it on tv and watched a few. (At least, that’s all I’m willing to admit to.) What surprised me was how talented Charo is on the guitar. I just think of her as coochie, coochie, sequins, and Love Boat. You could tell she though Jordan was a putz because he couldn’t tell the difference between the chords she was playing.
IIRC, after Ryan was eliminated, she griped massively to whomever in the media would allow her five minutes, that she was disfavored on the show because the producers scheduled the “theme night” thing that they do in such a way that she went multiple weeks without ever being able to sing the style of music (rock) which best encapsulates her talents. Consequently, her ouster wasn’t fair, because she was artificially kept from showing herself at her best.
I gotta say: Charo? Definitely. But Ryan? What has she done that makes her more, or even just equally, as talented as Jordan Knight? Not that I’m into the type of music he does, but he’s actually had a career, which is what truly sets Ryan Star apart from the others- she’s a never-was in a show full of has-beens.
They seem to like to do that on this show: throw in a reality tv “star” with the “real” celebrities. On the other season I saw, it was someone (Jeri?) from Survivor, and they were terribly hostile to her for not being “one of them.” At least Ryan hasn’t had to put up with that kind of snark. Frankly, she’s a spoiled, petulant child. (Actually, most of them are, but at least they’ve “earned” the right to be so. Ryan is like the temp worker who thinks she’s entitled to extra long smoke breaks and clocking out a few minutes early because she’s seen the old-timers getting away with it. She needs a reality check.)
Thanks TeaElle, that explains her “it’s just like Idol” remark.
You’re being too kind to Ryan. Really. I’m looking forward to the reality check in the form of Sally Jesse Raphael (OMG, I’ll looking forward to SJR! )
SJR will hopefully tear Ryan a new one for breach of contract. (Ryan promised to perform in a casino in order to get a free room. She got the room and was ‘too tired’ too perform. She didn’t tell anyone, she just went to her room and didn’t answer the phone.)
