That is so sad. I remember whenever someone first linked to the story here about Casper riding the bus and I thought that was just the neatest thing, while at the same time worrying about his safety.
Now I suppose the lad is catching buses in heaven.
I wonder if that cat knew the dogs rom Russia.
I’m sorry to say this, because cats enjoy being outside so much, but this story really underscores the importance of not letting one’s cat go outside. It seems like Casper was a very special kitty.
RIP, little man.
I hope it happened quickly and he didn’t suffer.
And, not that I’m defending anyone, but 10 pound and smaller animals don’t register as much more than a bump in the road. It sucks, but most of the time the drivers don’t stop because they don’t know they hit an animal. I know this because it happened to me while I was driving 20 years ago and I still haven’t forgotten it. Someone standing near the road ahead of me saw it and stopped me. I had run over a dachsund that had darted between parked cars and there was no chance I could have ever seen him. Seriously, a bump in the road. I never would have known if someone hadn’t witnessed it from ahead. I don’t think he suffered, though.
It’s tragic. Casper was a pretty cool kitty.
