This is a stupid thing to do. How do they think these people are going to be sentenced if they can’t be prosecuted because nobody will represent them?
Yes, but if you are not in favor of the present government in Iraq, it is an ingenius strategy. If they keep mucking up Saddam’s trial and then Saddam is somehow sentenced and incarcerated anyway, they can claim that the system is corrupt. In the meantime, they get to keep on killing those that participate in the current system.
