Next thing we know there’ll be a detailed analysis of the laptop by forensic experts and it will reveal that Hunter once looked at pictures of naked ladies on the internet! And it will be the top story on Republican infotainment sources for days! And Sam will eat it up like a hungry puppy.
The thing about the Alfa Bank (AB) server issue is that it was, according to AB in a still-ongoing lawsuit filed by them a couple of years ago, a sophisticated cyberattack launched against AB, one meant to link AB to Trump.
Sam, let me be clear: If the Hillary team exercised illegal skullduggery against the Trump team - like, say, something that could do the above - I want them prosecuted under the relevant statutes. Period.
The reasons as to why Trump, as President, and Barr, as AG, didn’t prosecute this case in 4 years will be left as an exercise to the reader. Obvious inference is obvious, but I’ll let y’all draw it.
He made you read the steaming pile of an article. This counts as a “win” in his books.
If only.
Maybe enough Republicans will stop pandering to Trump and feeding his election fraud fantasies to make their party relevant again.
And I will be elected King of Bessarabia.
And you are a moron. It’s the old tactic of screaming innocuous stuff with enough outrage to make people think something normal is wrong
Joe Biden’s son had a laptop and used it to send e-mails!
Joe Biden’s son once introduced a business friend to his father!
Joe Biden has a home office in his basement!
You are a blathering drooling idiot that doesn’t have the mental capacity to exist in a technological society and you should not be allowed within 6 feet of any device that has a microchip. You’re a freaking troglodyte.
I never doubted that the laptop belonged to Hunter Biden. He as much as admitted it was probably his, before the election. The issue, and the reason it was considered disinformation, was it had been in the hands of agents of a country that we have an adversarial relationship with. It’s a chain of custody issue, and the fact that Guiliani and friends lied about the origin also makes it suspect.
Most of the news outlets that declined to cover the story did so because the information - like a full image of the hard drive- was deliberately withheld from them, they were just given printouts of what Trump’s cohort wanted them to see.
The NY Post and WSJ were offered more information but it was still selectively curated. Michael Bender of the WSJ attended a meeting withTrump’s team and agreed to research and review the story, while making no promises that they would get a story out pre-election.
Then Trump immediately tweeted that the WSJ would be running a bombshell story on the Hunter Biden e-mails. This pissed off Bender. Oh, and once the WSJ reviewed everything they decided there was absolutely nothing that incriminated Joe Biden on it. As did every reputable news organization in the world except the NY Post….ie every reputable new organization in the world. This doesn’t mean that there is a massive worldwide conspiracy to suppress the truth. It means that multiple reputable organization, all who love a good scoop, decided it was a….nothing burger.
It is highly disputed that “the big guy” refers to Joe Biden. In the e-mails related to Burisma, it almost certainly doesn’t. I read the available e-mails in their entirety and unless the 2014 Ukrainian election was the most important event in Joe Biden’s life — it doesn’t. In context, “the big guy” is a Ukrainian national, probably Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian that owned the company Hunter was working for.
The use of the phrase “the big guy” in the Chinese emails is less clear cut, mostly because of the selectiveness of what was released. One reporter who had access to the entire email said that ,in context, “the big guy” was obviously a Chinese national.
I believe that the author of these emails, Tony Bobulinski, has claimed that at least one reference to “the big guy” refers to Joe Biden. But this was an email between two parties that were not Joe Biden, the business deal fell through and there is zero evidence that Joe Biden was aware of the deal. And no one responded to that part of the e-mail.
I once did a project for the in-house construction office in a Trump building in New York. Suppose, while negotiating for them, I had offered to give Mr. Trump a 10% cut if I was awarded the job - and received no response. Do you seriously think I could offer up that email - FROM ME - as evidence that Donald Trump was corrupt? Just how freaking stupid are you? “Trump is corrupt, here’s proof, here’s me trying to bribe him” “What did he say?” “Oh, he never got back to me”. LOL.
I do not believe that Bobulinksi is credible, he obviously had ulterior motives considering that he issued a statement to Breitbart once he realized he wasn’t going to be the star of a pre-election bombshell. When NBC asked for copies of the e-mails and documents that proved his case, he refused to give a thing to them, telling them instead to “watch Tucker Carlson’s show tonight”. This is not the response of a credible witness.
I do believe that Rudy Guiliani consorting with Russian agents in order to influence the election is actionable though.
(This link is gifted, it should be free for two week and won’t count against your WaPo free views)
And so does us law enforcement and our national security apparatus.
So bottom line is that no one just pretended this story didn’t exist. It’s just that there was nothing there to interest anyone with a connection to reality.
Now, can we talk about Ivanka and Jared consorting with a Chinese spy? The press went way too easy on the Trumps, especially with regards to national security mesdires.
I’m sure Sam will be back to address the thorough debunking of his claims.
No, wait, of course he won’t. He never comes back to address the debunking of his claims. He just waits a while and then repeats the claims again in other threads.
Are you kidding?
Turning Afghanistan over to the Taliban and bugging out, leaving thousands of people behind who America promised would never be abandoned, along with at least a hundred American citizens. The worst US foreign policy disaster since Vietnam.
The border disaster. It’s turning into a humanitarian disaster.
Biden’s ‘smart foreign policy’ has alienated most American allies. Europe is rethinking NATO. France pulled its ambassador for the first time in over 200 years.
And his economic policies are insane. On the good side, he appears to be about as incompetent at getting them through as he is at everything else except getting Hunter good paying gigs.
Thank you for this missive from the fantastical mindscape of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene!
And yet Trump was far worse on all four of these points - in fact, some of the things you’re blaming Biden for involve him cleaning up Trump’s messes. I don’t recall seeing you describing Trump’s presidency as a “spectacular failure”.
Also, his characterization of Biden’s policies is a mix of ridiculous exaggeration and outright lies.
He got all indignant over in P+E and asked what criminal statutes Trump had violated.
I replied with a long list from the US criminal code. A really long list.
Crickets from Sam, although another conservative opined that he thought one of the violations I cited might possibly be unconstitutional.
Yes, that’s par for the course. He’ll cling to the one tiny point he feels he can fight about (his opinion about whether Biden is a failure or not) and studiously ignore the fact that everything else he’s written has been demonstrated to be nonsense.
To your point, @Gyrate, he mentioned the Alfa Bank server which is irrelevant to the entire Russia/Trump thing.
“Yeah, I drove the getaway car! But this ‘didn’t use turn signals’ charge is crap!”
Jesus. DJT negotiates a surrender to the Taliban and it’s Biden’s fault. The stupidity burns. So Biden thought that the Afghan troops that the US trained and equipped for nearly two decades might actually… you know… fight. Not an entirely unreasonable expectation. Then they give up without firing a shot and Biden is faced with evacuating people in a hurry because of the surrender that Donnie negotiated… I mean capitulated. You gotta be some kind of stupid to lay all of this at Biden’s feet.
We also moved 122,000 people out during the airlift. The 100 of not-his-Countrymen which Sam is so worried about had plenty of warning and plenty of seats.
To paraphrase:
‘Why didn’t Biden save me, God?’
‘What? He gave you 122,000 plane tickets! You then gave them away!’
I know I call Sam stupid a lot, but he’s really not. He’s a filthy amoral liar. He knows he’s lying, he’s just doing it because he’d rather lie, and win an argument, than be a decent human being and lose honestly.
Has he ever won though?
And Sam and his right-wing cohort act like they really believe we could’ve broken Trump’s agreement with the Taliban and maintained 3500 troops indefinitely with no retaliation.
Bob Woodward’s book Peril isn’t all about Trump, it actually has some in-depth coverage of the early Biden presidency, and the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan. Biden isn’t stupid, he knew it was a decision that would likely have some serious negative political repercussions and cause some short term damage. That’s why every President since Bush promised to get us out yet kicked the can down the road.
But it was the right thing to do. Biden is the only President in recent memory who had a child that served in the armed forces, and as Joe reviewed the current goals and objectives in Afghanistan, he asked himself if it was worth risking his child’s life over. And the answer was always no.
I am in favor of robust investigation over the military failures in Afghanistan, though. In a way Biden is like the guy that exposed a Ponzi scheme. Which makes him unpopular with the people that were profiting off the scheme.
Exactly. The more info we get about Afghanistan, the smarter the decision to leave looks (and the dumber the decision to stay for so long looks).
Sam can’t admit that getting us out was politically courageous, since there were bound to be some bad news in the short term. But in the long term, no more deaths and billions spent for nothing. This is the best decision of the presidency so far.
Imagine needing attention so badly you resurrect a thread dedicated to making you look like an idiot. It’s like losing fights to get some girl’s pity.
“Yeah, but Jane saw me hit him, righ…” (passes out)
