I can’t write down my Sig. It’s in German and I don’t speak German.
Well google says your sig says, “Drive only with closed roof”. So you can just try to remember that. 'Tis a wise sig indeed.

Which. Would. Be. A. Threat. He just said he’s lobbying to get signatures removed. Oakminster may be annoying, but he does usually have a good read on what the mods think of him.
And, for the same reason everyone else would be happy to see it happen, it would be a jerkish move to remove guest signatures because of this. Oakminster should not have to pay for bringing up the topic. And other guests should definitely not have to pay for it.
Guest signatures have been enabled for a while. Like it or not, you already made a decision, and people have been using that decision. If it was so unimportant that you didn’t bother checking, there’s no reason it should suddenly become important again.
You can’t even say that Oakminster just brought it to your attention, since you’ve repeatedly responded to guest posts that have automatic signatures. If it were important to you, you would have noticed. It’s not like manual and automatic signatures look the same.
And, save for the time when my keyboard broke and I had to type with a mouse, I don’t really use my signature. It’s not a personal thing. No one is going to pay for the right to use a signature. So disabling it is just a slight towards guests.
Oh, and save the insults about me taking this seriously or daring to defend Oakminster. And, if you disagree, try for once to come up with something besides calling it stupid.

Personally, I’ve always found the manual signature to be far more annoying.

I would like to say, though, that I do think samclem is in the wrong here. It there is a built in functionality for guests to use, that is a tacit permission to use that functionality. saclem is out of line.
However, though he could have handled it better, he didn’t exactly bring the hammer down. This wasn’t a warning or even a mod note. Though slightly rude, tempest in a teapot, etc, etc.
Ignorance fought. 
I think that’s a bad example of ignorance being fought.
