Same actor has #1 and #2 boxoffice movies in same week - ever happened before?

Russell Brand has the #1 and #2 U.S. boxoffice money maker on the same week with Hop and Arthur. Has this ever happened before? How about in non-U.S. box office receipts?

I didn’t find a reference for the whole week, but for the weekend of 10DEC99 - 12DEC99, Tom Hanks with Toy Story 2 and The Green Mile.

For the weekends of 24DEC10 - 26DEC10 and 31DEC10 - 02JAN11, if it weren’t for Little Fockers, Jeff Bridges for True Grit and Tron Legacy.

Michael J. Fox with Back to the Future & Teen Wolf.

Yup, that works for several weekends in 1985.

An obscure one: Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

On the week of April 16-22, 2010, Kick-Ass and How to Train Your Dragon were #1 and #2.

IIRC, I remember seeing an article about how Leonardo DiCaprio had finally knocked Titanic out of the #1 spot with The Man in the Iron Mask. Based on when they were released, this would have been in the spring of 1998.

Not quite. The movie that knocked Titanic out of the top spot was, of all forgettable movies, Lost in Space.

However, you are right about DiCaprio. Titanic and The Man in the Iron Mask were #1 and #2 on the week of March 13-19, 1998.
