I’m in the market for an LCD TV. I’ve been looking around and Samsung seems to have the quality to price ratio I want. I’m only looking for 40" 1080p models and apparently there are no less than 10 available. Before I go an search out each one to see what the differences between them are I thought I might ask if anyone knew offhand. Thanks for your help.

Well I looked them all up and I figured I might as well share what I learned in case anyone else cares.
All are 1080p, 40" LCDs with 178 degree viewing angle and a 120hz refresh rate. The real difference between the models are the contrast ratios.
LNT4061F - 10,000:1
LNT4065F and LNT4066F - both 15,000:1, but the 66F has one less HDMI input and costs $100 less
LNT4069F and LNT4069FX - both 20,000:1, but the 69F has a 6ms response time, all other models are 8ms
LNT4071F - 25,000:1
LNT4081F - 500,000:1, LED backlight, all other models are lit by fluorescents
LNS4096D and LNS4095D - both 6,000:1, older models
LN40A550P - touch screen menu model
I frequently run into this problem also. Why don’t manufacturers provide the relevant information to help a consumer choose the most appropriate model? Most of the time you’ll see a description on the main page for each model that appears absolutely identical except for price.
I notice Crutchfield will handle this properly for models that they carry. They’ll say model x has a,b,&c; model y has all that and steps up to d&e, etc. Manufacturer’s web pages rarely have the detail you need to make an informed choice.
BTW, I got this one:
LNT4071F - 25,000:1
at newegg.com a couple months ago for $1400.
It’s an excellent TV!
