yes
I’m worryed it will become gilligan’s island jack… it already has somewhat, I hope it quits that.
Meh. I wasn’t particularily impressed.
I’ll admit I’ve only seen one episode, and bits from another (I don’t normally get cartoon network where I am, but I was on holiday in america and the house I was staying in does), but it really didn’t strike me as anything special. Or indeed anything good. Considering how much everyone likes it, I guess I might just be judging it on the grounds of one bad episode, but it just didn’t really strike me as anything interesting. Kindof cleverly done, but the plot was corny beyond belief, and not really in an entertaining way.
Alternatively I may just be odd. It’s happened before (almost continually for the last 20 years in fact).
Any gamers in here notice the striking similarities between the animation in SJ and that of Legend of Zelda:The Wind Waker?
I doubt it’s just coincidental 'cause they’re very similar, but I wonder, between Tartakovsky and Miyamoto, who borrowed from who.
I love it.
Coincidentally, I just started re-reading Frank Miller’s Ronin for the first time in ~15 yrs and I was struck by the incredible similarities between the two. Was Miller the inspiration for SJ or is there an earlier time-travelling Samurai vs. Demon story that they’re both referencing?
I love the way he puts his sword back into the sheath. Instead of just jabbing it in (and possibly stabbing himself) like other cartoon characters he places the hilt next to the opening of the sheath then slides the sword away until the tip lines up with the opening. Then he puts the sword back in. I imagine that was how it was done IRL. Either way, it still looks pretty cool.
It’s the little details that make a show great.
