Horsepucky. I saw a Trump supporter clock a guy being escorted out of a stadium - it was completely unprovoked. The supporter was interviews by MSNBC and showed no remorse - we was wondering whether the black guy was ISIS. You can’t blame the media for that kind of stupid, but you can observe that he was riffing on the sorts of things Trump says. The puncher was later arrested but not during the event itself. Wasn’t touched by the cops.
I agree with Cruz and Kasich. Trump is a demagogue: he reaches out to the angriest most unhinged people in the crowd and amplifies them.
Generally speaking, police at private events are actually off-duty; they are simply picking up an extra day of work and being paid by the event organizers. It’s typically considered a win-win all the way around; the officers get extra money, and the event gets actual police on scene in case of serious problems, instead of having to rely on private security people who don’t have the same level of authority.
From my admittedly limited knowledge, I wouldn’t call what happened a “riot”; nor do I know of any “violence” or “force” (unless you think that all protests inherently involve such). Have I missed any reports?
Not really, the point remains that if that is what is needed one should then begin to wonder why is this rich guy that wants to remove virtually all inheritance and corporate taxes in a very naked conflict of interests, besides raising hate and division, wants to become president.
CNN called it violent. There was apparently a lot of shoving and grabbing of Trump signs, and some punching, while most protesters were just yelling and intimidating. I only watched a small part of this collection of footage and saw quite a bit of violence.
Trump probably pays more than you for taxes. Why shouldn’t he be entitled to use government services that he pays a disproportionate share of? Should he not use the interstate as well?
Trump has freely admitted to being audited by the IRS at least a dozen times so it’s rather obvious he has issues when it comes to paying his taxes.
So far as I know, Gigo has never given any indication that the IRS have ever come after him because there were questions as to whether he’d cheated on his taxes or not.
Can’t argue with a man who cites breitbart.
Well, you can, but it won’t do any good.
I’m pretty sure you think that your question answers itself. How could an Obama minion possibly care about Constitutional freedoms? Even if he wanted to, he’s probably too busy arranging for the New Black Panthers to run ACORN as soon as Hillary refunds it.
Again, no one broke into anyone’s house; all news reports I’ve seen indicate that Trump’s staff made little or no attempt to identify or separate protesters from pro-Trump visitors to the rally. Even if we go with that rather tortured metaphor, there were police right there in the house at the time.
Also, just so it’s clear, I don’t advocate shouting down or otherwise hindering campaigning activities, no matter how much I may disagree with the views of the candidate. Frankly, the shameful misbehavior on display last night will most likely be a net gain for Trump. There is simply no question, however, that Trump has knowingly fostered an atmosphere where its OK for his followers to take the law into their own hands.
OK, so yelling should be met with violence. A distinction without much of a difference, it seems.
That guy Gandhi, from your home country, should have been advising his followers to ‘knock the crap out of them’ all along, right?
Protesters are looking for trouble. If they believe in democracy they would allow the rallies to happen peacefully . maybe protest silently if they have to be present at the venue. That would be the Gandhian way perhaps. I wouldn’t hit the protester personally I think, but if someone is hitting them for their conduct I won’t be terribly upset.
Posted this in the Trump campaign thread before I realized there was a thread for this incident.
This is probably the best thing that could happen to the Trump campaign. It alleviates problems he was having (violent rallies) by suggesting he’s not the troublemaker. It makes him sympathetic. It makes it look like the boogeyman he’s rallying against might really exist.
Everyone involved in this protest is a fucking moron. Even though Bernie has nothing to do with this and clearly wouldn’t stand for this, he’ll probably be collateral damage because the narrative will say it’s all Bernie supporters even though it’s probably mostly a mix of BLM retards, communist/anarchist/emo kids who love to protest anything, and groups of opportunistic protesters who don’t actually care but love an opportunity for violence and looting.
This is exactly the sort of thing that will light a spark in Trump’s campaign, excuse his flaws, and make him sympathetic to a much bigger range of voters. You gave the impression that the nonsense he’s rallying against is actually real, and now people are going to support him to fight you. You fucking idiots.
