Sandwiches

Big Bad Voodoo Lou , the major difference I found is that the Volpi is so much more dry than the Genoa. The Genoa has a much better flavor than the Volpi has, too. I think so, anyway. Of course, that’s just my opinion!
I’ve not had Genoa with Bagna Calda yet, but I’m sure it’ll be fantastic…

Anyone got good egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad or ham salad recipes??? Please post them!

My favorite sandwich is a baguette with real butter spread on it. Put brie cheese on it, then add in some thickly cut proscuitto, then add it some smoked goudo cheese. Put it in the oven for about 8 minutes. Then enjoy. I haven’t had this in a while as I went on a diet and this was really rich.

Sandwiches are mostly what I eat. I have a strange compulsion to put things between slices of bread. My favorites are turkey club, homemade meatball and mozzarella cheese (with the weird mutant meatballs my mother makes), and BL with mustard and cheese. I’ve never been able to eat raw tomatoes, so no T.

or to be more specific:

ham (preferably raw ham), mayo and canned asparagus.

number two on my list would probably be (canned) tuna, a bit of red curry sauce and gherkins

by the way, this is my first post here - hello everyone

Tuna salad is much improved by a teaspoon or so of Dijon mustard, and perhaps a few capers. Even better is leaving out the diced celery in favor of the above.

I make my tuna salad with Miracle Whip rather than mayo for the tanginess, a good long squirt of brown mustard like Gulden’s, a scoop of sweet relish, finely diced onion, hot red pepper flakes, and a shot or two of worcestershire sauce or hot sauce. It is pretty good, and I buy the cheapest water-canned tuna. It would probably be even better if you used the nice stuff in the packets.

A local company makes these lovely soft flavored cheeses. I love the Basil Roasted Walnut spread on lightly toasted potato bread, with thinly sliced roasted turkey breast. MMM, that is so good!

And almost nothing in the world beats Adam’s natural peanut butter (chunky, of course) on sourdough bread with a good strong honey. Heaven on earth.

Peanut butter and orange marmalade.

Leftover pot roast with chopped raw cabbage on wheat bread with spicy mustard.

I’m glad I read this after dinner. Tonight was polish sausage with peppers and onions.

I see your sandwich preferences are as, um… as unique as your username. Welcome to the boards!

Homemade meatballs with fresh tomato sauce. Place on a good thick Portugese roll and top with a little bit of provolone under the broiler.

Yum.

If that’s too much work I like good old fashioned pb and j on potato bread. The p must be be smooth and the only acceptable j is grape.

I just like tomato sandwiches.

Sandwich bread (white or wheat), little bit of mayonaise (fat free for me, these days, ah well), not-too-thick-but-not-too-thin sliced tomatoes, and a little sprinkle of salt.

Ridiculously simple, but delicious. I don’t eat much else for sandwiches, unless you want to get into submarine sandwiches, then I’ll eat whatever you got. (er… whoa there, nellie. Has to be low fat for me these days. ~sigh. But two months ago! Pile it all on!)

I adore tomato sandwiches, too. I like my bread to be wheat and lightly toasted.
