And as others have pointed out, Huckabee the Elder had something pretty bigoted to say about Nancy Pelosi earlier that very morning.
I mean, I’m all about civility. I think maybe there’s too much heated rhetoric out there these days. That said, Huckabee Sanders chose to take a job - and makes a deliberate choice every day to keep doing a job - where she defends the ravings of the rudest, crudest, most uncivil “politician” America has seen since the days of open segregation, if not before that. If she wants to see things de-escalate, maybe she should start by having a word with her boss.
This, very much. Sanders has repeatedly insulted journalists who are simply doing their jobs. In fact, I can’t think of any examples of her ‘treating people respectfully.’
This, too. A major theme-for-trolling-decent-people, lately, is ‘if you’d just treat us Trump fans/enablers/minions with more deference, we’d start being nice to you!’ Of course that’s 100% Lucy-with-the-football. Sure, they do want to be deferred to and flattered, but no matter how much of that decent people do, the Trump folks are never going to stop saying and doing despicable things.
A close cousin in the trolling-the-left fun for Trump fans is the claim: ‘the left is driving people in the middle into the arms of Trump by criticizing Trump!’ Total bullshit.
I think that not only should the restaurateur not have asked Sanders to leave, she should have served her a piece of pie on the house – the same renowned chocolate pie that Minny Jackson made for Hilly Holbrook.
Umm… Good luck with that. Trump doesn’t listen to anyone. He certainly won’t listen to a female employee. It is to laugh.
The ONLY way to get his attention is to praise him. The only way to get him to change his mind is to fool him. Logic, caring, empathy - the standard traits that most of us possess are simply not in his tool box.
Soon, they will all need security details like Pruitt. What must it be like to be the spokesperson for the most hatted man in the US. Not that they don’t deserve it. They only reason they are sticking to their jobs is that they agree with Trumps ‘policies’. “Racism, screw the environment, more pie for me.”
And in a move just as unsurprising as it is unfortunate, other eateries named “Red Hen” are catching flack for this. This is not a chain, this is just a case of two (possibly more) chicken joints having the same name. Reminds me of the Muslim-haters going after Sikhs in the wake of 9/11. I get the anger, but misdirected anger just makes you look really, really stupid.
Business owners (should) have every right in the world to refuse service to those they don’t like, saving only issues of a protected class, which “White House Press Secretary,” is not.
The owner had a strong opinion and exercised it. That’s a privilege of owning a restaurant.
The main problem being, conservatives are terrible cooks. People who are raised to appreciate and prepare fine food generally become liberals, as do most educated persons.
Why do you think the Trumpers all head for restaurants owned by leftists? They are DAMN tired of Chikn-Fil-A.
Bricker is excluded from the above. Bricker can whomp up a fine Coq au Vin along with Gratin Savoyard and even a decent green salad to go along with it.
There’s always Papa John’s and a case of Yuengling. But what can one really expect when the dear leader takes his Trump steaks well done with ketchup? They just want to emulate his disdain for fine food, or even edible food.
Aye; it wasn’t because she’s a Republican; it was because she’s a horrible person. And we know she’s a horrible person because she keeps doing horrible things. Good people don’t deliberately continue to do horrible things.
This week I saw a rumor that she would be quitting soon (not soon enough). I wonder how many days/months until her tenure counts as a year so she can suck up some sweet, sweet govt. benefits upon “retiring” or quitting?
