Sarah McLachlan to release new studio album in November

I just heard the first single, “Fallen”, on the radio today. It sounded pretty good, though not outstanding by Sarah’s standards.

According to Sarah’s website, the new album will be called Afterglow and should be released on November 4. Amazon/CDNow don’t have a listing for it yet. I’m looking forward to it… I’ve been waiting a long time since her last studio album.

Between the extended edition of Two Towers, King’s Wolves of the Calla, and Sarah’s new album, November’s shaping up to be an expensive month for me.

That’s great news! I’ve been waiting for a new Sarah album for ages. My copy of Surfacing is almost worn out.

She is a most amazing woman … so talented, so beautiful, voice like an angel. I think I’m in love …

It’ll be interesting to see if she generates good new material after the ugly lawsuit business, when she sort of HAS to write it herself.

My thoughts exactly… unless RickJay is talking about the “Possession” lawsuit, which I thought was over ages ago and was initiated by McLachlan’s stalker anyway…

IMO, “Fallen” is a lovely song. Certainly worthy of Sarah, even if it is too short!

The lyrics are a little weak though… just like Dar and Madonna’s latest albums. I hope this isn’t a trend - are humans running out of things to say?

That was my feeling about it as well… it’s a very pretty song, as most of her songs are, but the lyrics are lacking. It’s a very bland song, once you get past the joy of hearing a new one from Sarah.

I might be appreciating it a little more because I was looking for a song to finish my Buffymix for S6 (I do one for each season, with each song assigned to a character), and this one suits my needs perfectly.
