Which albums that are coming out are you looking forward to buying/have on your list?
The next Blur album is due out in May, I think. Can’t wait.
The new Pearl Jam offerings. The rare and b-sides album and I think they’ve recently started working on a new one also.

Ruadh - are you sure about the Blur album?
Apparently its being co-produced by Norman Cook (AKA Fatboy Slim) and in the last article i read, Cook said he was looking forward to working with Blur. This was quite recently, and getting an album recorded, mixed, mastered, promoted etc, etc, and released in less than 3 months sounds a bit tricky.
Still, I might well be wrong. Be nice to hear some more from Blur.
On April 1, Tom Waits is releasing TWO new albums (not a double album).
I am excited for that.
I can’t wait for the new Fountains of Wayne record, as they’re still recording or have just finished for the third album, but I have no clue as to when it’ll be out.
Also looking forward to:
Jets to Brazil sometime this fall
Jawbreaker B-sides (finally)
Jawbreaker Dear You re-release
Weezer Maladroit
damn, I wish they’d just set a date for these things…
My friend tells me there’s a new Prodigy album due soon. I’m salivating.
I have heard tell that the new album by Broadcast will be out this year. I’ll buy it immediately, if not sooner.
The Whitefield Brothers album (true hard afro-carribbean funk) is about to be released on Soul Fire Records. I can’t wait.
Ditto those Tom Waits albums, mouthbreather.
(Hope this isn’t a double-post…)
I was looking forward to Garrison Starr’s new album, but now it’s out, and I’m happy. (Four years and a new record contract in the making!)
Just doublechecked and damn, you’re right. They’re due to start recording it in May.
sigh I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait though. They always are, even if I don’t always think so at first listen.
Well, I’d have to say the new Queens of the Stone Age , simply because I might be able to catch the accompanying tour this time…
and the new Big Head Todd and the Monsters , because it’s been a while since they had an album out, and I had assumed they had broken up or somesuch…
I think I can safely say that I am the only 16 year old kid looking forward to the new cd of The Grateful Dead covering Bob Dylan songs live over the years.
I am also looking forward to the new Frank Zappa cd, although it is a mail order only, and I will porbably have to wait a while to get it.
I second JTB’s new album. I am hoping it is a bit more like Orange rhyming dictionary though. As for Jawbreakers re-release you can pick up a copy at jetstobrazil.com if you don’t want to wait for it to come out.
I can’t WAIT for Weezer’s Maladroid to come out…althought it may never come out because =w= is fighting with the record company…they weren’t so happy about weezer releasing demos of their new songs on their official site…luckily I got all their demos before the audio part was shut down and all of em’ sound so good! Dope Nose is their first official single…
I’m also a closet Def Leppard fan…and their album “X” is coming out late spring I think…can’t wait for that!
Whoa…I was going to say the Fountains of Wayne third album too. Last I heard, the Fountains tentatively claimed a fall release, but…as they’re still unsigned, who knows?
Sheesh I totally forget to answer the OP!
I cannot wait for the new LUNA. It is titled “Romantica” and is scheduled to come out in April! Woo hoo!
I already have a copy of Dear You, but the re-release on Blackball Records (Adam Pfahler’s label) will have the Fireman video and bonus tracks. B-sides album looks great too, but probably stuff I already have…
As far as JTB, yeah, I’m really hoping for something more akin to ORD, but I’ll take anything I can get. I hear that Blake is playing for Cub Country, Jeremy Chatelain’s solo deal (I missed them last week). I’m indifferent towards Cub Country, but just hope this doesn’t point to an influence on their upcoming album…
You can dowload the 8 song promo now at www.weezerempire.com or www.uwftm.com (don’t worry mods, band approved), as well as the final mixes (non-promo, but final album mixes) of “Love Explosion” and “Possibilities”–released by Rivers yesterday and today.
I wait anxiously for the release of Marah’s latest album, Float Away With the Friday Night Gods. I’ll be seeing them in Red Bank, NJ on Friday and Saturday…can’t wait to hear the new stuff. For those who have never heard of Marah, think The Replacements meets Springsteen meets The Pogues, with a dash of Appalachian Mountain music thrown into the mix. Umm…yeah, that’s the best I can describe them.
The new Dave Matthews Band. I was deeply, bitterly disappointed in Everyday - my boys can do much, much better than that kind of watered-down generic pop tripe. The new one isn’t being produced by Glen Ballard, the man responsible for Everyday, and it’s going to include several of the Lillywhite Sessions songs, which I think are some of their best work ever. So I’ve got high hopes.
I had really been looking forward to the new Indigo Girls album, which came out last week. Unfortunately, it’s not that good. It just makes me want to put in one of their other albums.
I’ll be going out tomorrow to pick up the Uncle Tupelo retrospective. I hear they might be re-releasing all their albums this year. My fingers are crossed.
April will be a great time to be a Phish geek, since we get the next six installments of Live Phish as well as the first studio disc from the Trey Anastasio Band. Yeah, I have it all pre-ordered–I’m such a geek.
