I’m pretty excited about the new Pearl Jam because I thought their last album was great, and Eddie Vedder has been performing a load of new songs solo. And I want to hear whatever Coldplay comes up with next…I’m curious if they have any staying power. I would also be looking forward to the next U2 album if a) they would stop touring already and start recording it and b) their last album wasn’t overcalculated and soul-less dreck.
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (april 23)
The Jayhawks - they are working on it
Ben Harper - in the studio now
Izzy Stradlin’ - he’s finishing it up
Guns N’ Roses - Chinese Democracy
A Perfect Circle - they have started working on it
Jerry Cantrell - due in may
Mother Hips, Radiohead - just started on theirs
Girls Against Boys supposedly have a new one coming out in May on Jade Tree Records. I’ve heard a couple of the new songs live, and it sounds like the guys are returning to their old sound. Hooray!
I hope to God Firewater releases a new album soon, if only to cleanse my head of the embarrassment that was their last album. What was up with that??
It came out today, and I’m psyched and a half!

LocalLoop: Ditto on the QOTSA album.
The Prodigy Album is half done, apparently, and is provisionally titled Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.
I am awaiting the new Red Hot Chili Pepper album.
In an even better piece of news, Gary Louris and Marc Olson are writing songs together again! The song they wrote recently will probably be on Olson’s next solo album, according to this Billboard article.
Also, Jen Gunderman and Kraig Johnson are out of the band, and the new Jayhawks album will apparently have a ‘stripped-down’ country feel to it. They are going to begin recording around May 1 with Rick Rubin. Which means God only knows when the album will come out–I’d guess December…
yeah, this is great news…i heard about that.
and they are touring too, which is going to be awesome, i can’t wait!

Wilco’s album is coming into print in April? Cool. I’ll have to get it.
Anyway, here are my two:
KMFDM’s new album “Attak”, but it was released today (and I got it), so I guess it doesn’t count. It’s a must for industrial listeners.
Megaherz’s new album, “Herzwerk II”, comes out April 25th, but I’ll have to import it. Shapping up to be great though.

Did anyone else see them on their acoustic tour? I saw them at the Cat’s Cradle up in Chapel Hill, NC and they absolutely blew me away. It was just Louris, Tim O’Regan and Marc Pearlman but wow, what a show. Especially the versions of older songs. They even did “Tinsel Town” from Tim’s old band, The Leatherwoods.
Most of my looking-forward-to records have been mentioned with the exception of the new Paul Westerberg! He has a double album coming out on Vagrant Records in April, called Stereo/Mono and yes, as it sounds, one disc was recorded in Stereo, the other in Mono. Mono (under Paul’s pseudonym sideproject name of Grandpaboy) actually already got a limited release and it’s smokin’. Definitely very stripped back, fun rock and roll. In other words, better Stones’ material than the Stones have recorded themselves in going on 20 years. I’m truly pumped.
Oh, and the word is, new Sleater-Kinney next fall.
New Sheryl Crow album coming out in April! And thank goodness, she isn’t as freaking depressing as she was, from the sound of “Soak up the Sun.”
Also, the Bangles have supposedly finished recording a new album, and are planning to release it soon. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Apparently, Symphony X’s back catalog is being re-released in the US soon, possibly with extra tracks. I can’t wait.
i just got tickets and it should be great, ive been hearing rave reviews! hope their new one comes out soon…
ive seen them 2 times before and they put on a great show.
its sad that they are so under the radar. i try to spread the word!!
Can’t wait for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s album which is supposed to come out this fall!
The Counting Crows are coming out with a new one soon. I’ve heard some of the new tunes through live recordings, and they are quite good.
Rush “Vapor Trails” on May 14. Oh yeah.
Well I ordered a bunch from Germany a few weeks ago and they still haven’t gotten here. I’m waiting for Virgin Steele’s two new ones. Also coming is Gamma Ray No World Order, and Bruce Dickinson’s Best of.
Coming out soon I’m looking forward to Motorhead and the new Rush though not as much. There area also a lot of albums that should be coming out sometime I hope by Anthrax, Golden Earring, Iron Saviour and a few others.
