I’ve never been able to find it. But I have heard one line: the fake Jean Chrétien asked if they could switch to French, and the Queen briskly rapped out, “Bon, allez.”
Well I for one think pranks are great, provided they fight ignorance or tell us something about the world. In this case it’s simply a reminder: a voice on the other end of a phone line isn’t necessarily who they say it is.
I don’t think Palin did too badly, considering her inexperience.
I am surprised though that her staff didn’t run this one by the French Embassy. Somebody should have done more careful vetting.
