Boom de yadda? :dubious:
Discovery has lots of bullshit programs, and Sarah Palin is pure bullshit, so no surprise here.
Exactly what are we going to discover about Palin? That she’s stupider than we think? I don’t believe that is possible.
I notice that the press release refers to her as “the ex-VP candidate” and that the title seems very consistent with the megalomania that many see in her, as she claims ownership of the state of Alaska, and ensure’s that we all realize the show is about Sarah Palin more than it’s about Alaska. I mean, if she were just the host, and not a grandstanding attention whore, it would be called Alaska with Sarah Palin or just Alaska and then hosted by Sarah Palin.
What I find hilarious about that page is that CNN helpfully provides a left-rule bullet-point summary for an article of less than 200 words. The whole article is pretty much four short bullet-points.
I’m disappointed that the woman keeps getting legitimized. But, other than Mythbusters, Dangerous Catch, and Cash Cab, I find Discovery not worth watching. Dirty Jobs has degraded into “vaguely aesthetically-unpleasant jobs” and the storm chasers show is a total trainwreck.
Is Mike Rowe going to shovel her?
(If there was a farming show, we could have gone with “plow”. *THAT *I’d watch.)
Wow, talk about Dirty Jobs!
What else would you call her? It’s a perfectly factual title (though awkward – I’d say “the former VP-candidate,” but then they already said “former governor” and it’s not that big a deal).
News articles now refer to John Kerry as a former presidential candidate, and to Joe Lieberman as a former vice presidential candidate. The title is strictly routine.
Awwww, I was thinking about an entirely different Discovery, and was wondering if they had to bring her back.
But they also have Mythbusters.
Anyway, they should put her on the History Channel, sandwiched between the Nostradamus and UFO shows.
Between? Heck, she could host some of those shows, you betcha!
There was a big stink a few weeks ago about her wanting to be referred to as “Governor Palin” on her appearances. I’d provide a cite, but I’m lazy and this is just CS.
Doesn’t matter. When Kerry and Lieberman are described in this manner, it’s strictly routine and absolutely factual. When somebody applies this title to Sarah Palin though, it’s clear evidence of rampant megalomania on her part. That’s how things work.
Good news, everyone!
According to this, the show will be on TLC, not Discovery. I haven’t watched anything on TLC for years.
But she doesn’t have enough children to have a show on TLC!
They are FAR more often referred to by their job title.
A “reality show” about Palin surely reveals that she will never again be a serious candidate for any public office. She’ll be forevermore part of a politicized opiniotainment industry.
Also, how could this possibly go well for her image? Doesn’t she realize that “reality has a well-known liberal bias”?
According to the NYTimes, this is actually a documentary series about the governor-who-walked-out-on-her-job-to-make-bigger-bux. Not a “reality” show. My mistake.

TLC is exactly the right place for her.
I just think it’s stupid to refer to anyone as a “former candidate”.
Heck, I’m a former candidate for POTUS. And former candidate for Governor. And I am a former candidate for King of the Moon. I’m also a former potential professional baseball player, and a former potential winner of 9 Wimbledon titles.
I am still a potential Nobel Prize-winning writer, and will possibly be tapped to be Secretary of Defense. And of course the door’s always open to becoming the first time traveler.
I knew she was an old fossil!
