I find this interesting. People are outraged by this, but let’s analyse it. What exactly do you find so annoying? I accept that you may not want to see her twat. On how many occasions have you or any significant number of others been forced to see it? I know there are photos available in various places if you want to see them.
Alternatively, does it bother you that others want to see her twat and she lets them?
What is it about this particular attention seeking behaviour Hilton engages in that annoys you so much?
I don’t think the joke was that bad. Hilton got her fame by being a stupid spoiled whore. It’s an image she chose freely and used to become famous. It would be like Marylin Manson getting upset if someone made a joke about his freakishness.
The only thing I can think of is it’s pretty harsh to rag on someone before they go to jail.
I don’t watch celebrity news much, but I knew about the sex tape and Paris’s other infamous escapades. I always figured she was getting the short end of the stick, getting bashed by the media and the public because she’s an easy target; she embodies everything that cruel, insecure schoolchildren mock in order to hide their feverish desire for it.
Then I saw her interviewed on Letterman once, and I realized that I was wrong, wrong, wrong.
She is a deeply horrible person, with zero comprehension that other people might actually exist and have, you know, thoughts and feelings and stuff. In that lengthy interview, it became utterly clear that Paris truly does believe that she is the Queen of Everything, and that anything bad that ever happens to her is merely the inconvenient imposition of some pathetic little serf’s rather mystifying “authority” upon Her Majesty’s Imperial Indolence.
I’m glad she’s doing jail time, and I’m glad Silverman mocked her so publicly. Yes, I feel unpleasant and mean as I think and type those words; but my feeling of meanness, I then realize, is rooted in the instinctive notion that I’m saying something mean about an actual person with actual feelings and an actual sense of what it means to be human. And then it goes away, because Paris Hilton, unless she’s undergone a dramatic personal transformation, is not an actual person.
I’ll save my pity for those who are able and willing to feel it for others.
Really? What is it that excites you most: her Picasso eyes? Her botched nose? Her relentless posing? Her smug, self-satisfied smirk? Her insipid monotone?
More inexplicable to me than hatred of Paris Hilton is Paris Hilton as sex object. I can think of few “sex symbols” that I find more eminently unerotic, let alone one that I’ve actually watched having sex. Even her performance in those videos was a boring, lifeless spectacle, except perhaps for the shock value of watching a pampered heiress actually deigning to give a blowjob.
I can see what Paris Hilton aspires to be, and it’s a shame that no amount of money or plastic surgery will ever quite elevate her above physical mediocrity. I really can’t fathom why anyone would find her sexually attractive, though, unless it’s tied up in some latent masochistic fantasy— that of a common worm maltreated by the privileged ice-princess aristocrat, or something similarly perverse.
I’m with Vinyl Turnip. If I saw bizzaro-world Paris working at a Starbucks I’d think “she’s kinda cute” but I wouldn’t be that impressed. Sure I’d have sex with her, but then I’d have sex with much less attractive women.
ETA: Her utter stupidity would be a turnoff. She doesn’t have the looks that can make up for it, IMO.
It’s funny you say that, because I was going to state the exact opposite. I can distinctly remember an episode where she had a pair of great danes delivered to a house, but then didn’t pay for them so when the breeder came by to collect they had no idea what was going on. Way to rub yourself in their faces. You deserve it because your rich Paris. Whats wrong with this generation is that they think this behavior is acceptable.

I’ve never watched the show but the whole freakin’ pitch to get it on made in the first place would have been “rich bitches come to farm and be clueless, impractical, entitled and ignorant leading to drama.”
I fully accept that Hilton may be a clueless, impractical, entitled, ignorant, rich bitch. But that show was going to ensure she and her friend acted that way, (or were edited to appear to act that way) regardless. It has no forensic value whatsoever.
Laughable. One minute I’m hearing she’s someone who’d do anything for attention, the next minute I’m hearing that she’d turn down a position on a well-watched TV show if it didn’t present her the way she wanted.
That’s before we even begin to consider whether she could turn down additional seasons, which would depend on her contract. My relatively shallow understanding is that actors who are not very well established and powerful (which Hilton certainly wasn’t, before that show) are unable to avoid contracts that compulsorily require them to do additional seasons at the producer’s option.
Furthermore, how she “wanted to be presented” is not by any means necessarily the same as how she actually is. There’s plenty of actors who have done very well out of playing evil crooks, and no doubt they are happy to be presented in that way if it gets them a job. Doesn’t mean they are actually evil crooks.
Getting DUIs, being a huge slut, etc is fairly common behavior among women in their 20s in America. Quite frankly I don’t think very highly of them either. My main problem with her is after all that she’s a friggin role model and idol to many impressionable, probably somewhat dense girls out there. She examplifies everything I dislike about my generation’s warped values, but she makes those things acceptable or even glamorous. It’s not embarrassing to get drunk and act the fool, it’s cool and sexy cuz I’m a hot bitch and I do what I want! WOO! Who cares about talent, hardwork, or morals when you’ve got MONEY. The sole determinant of your worth.
There are middle school girls that want to be just like Paris when they grow up. She knows this (or her marketing team does at least) and she is still incapable of behaving herself.
Interesting how the threated started off (ostensibly) about Sarah and her comments on Paris, then within 10 posts or so became totally devoted to the less talented, less sexy, more universally derided personality. (I take that back. At least Sarah has a personality. Paris only has an image.)
