Sarah turns opaque.

As soon as I read about that, I thought of Heinrich Albert. Yahoo?!?! For government business? Does she have one of those little Yahoo avatars?

Since our illustrious mod told me not to post anymore Palin threads I have to tack this hijack on here.

It seems the pig with lipstick wants more pork.

From the bridge to nowhere to the road to nowhere:

For someone that is against pork and is in a state flush with oil revenue she sure is a hungry sow.

Todd Palin is going to defy his subpoena also. The campaign spokeswoman says that he will not receive a “fair hearing”.

Y’know, if you want another four years of arrogant and stonewalling government, vote for McCain/Palin. Right here in the campaign, they’re showing what they stand for in government.

What royally pisses me off is that this crap might actually WORK! The Alaska Legislature can vote to find these fucks in contempt and compel their testimony, but they say it’s now not likely to happen before the November elections.

I’m seriously outraged. This fucking bitch has the unmitigated gall to declare she’s going to bring “transparency” to Washington, while simultaneously covering up and quashing a bipartisan investigation into her own administration in Alaska.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why any decent American citizen would be willing to put up with this out of our elected officials. If there were any decency amongst the population, this would never be allowed to happen, let alone people walking into a voting booth and actually ELECTING this bitch to be second in command of our country. It’s outrageous!

I’m confused. Since when do people have the right to refuse a subpoena? A subpoena is a court order.

Karl Rove can explain how that works.

The reason that the Republican Party has been as successful as it has been is because they refuse to underestimate the stupidity of the American public.

They don’t have the right, they’re just doing it anyway because they’re betting nobody’s going to arrest them and frogmarch them into court. They are most likely correct on that count, given that so far that tactic has worked for fucking everybody who’s fucking done it because Congress has no fucking balls and isn’t fucking willing to cross the most unpopular fucking president since Gallup started asking “hey, is the president a total fucking douchewaffle?”

I didn’t think their cooperation with the investigation was voluntary either. Nice little flip of the bird to the law there, from both Guv and First Dude.

Their blatant stonewalling probably won’t make a bit of difference to those already passionately committed to the McShame/Creationist Barbie camp. But I’d hope it would leave a bad taste in the mouths of those who aren’t blindly partisan.

It will be interesting to see how far the GOP slime faction are willing to go with this one, and how much voters will be willing to let slide.

To paraphrase myself in another thread:

Bucket of warm spit (R) 45%
Reasonable person (D) 55%

It’s actually a legislative subpoena, but under Alaska law, it’s compelling. By telling state employees not to testify, the Attorney General has exposed himself to charges of obstruction of justice and possible disbarment. One would think that the AG would know better, but this guy is just another FOS from Wasilla who apparently got his law degree from Phil’s Pretty Good Law Skool.

Contempt charges must be brought up before the full Legislature, which conveniently just so happens to be out of session til January.

It appears McCain’s camp has them beat here.

It’s not a right, but an ability, when you have a machine lawyer pushing it forth for you. Such total bullshit stalling tactics. Fisdustingskusting.

What happened to that solid, gung-ho, bring-it-on spirit that Real Americans are supposed to be so good at? It should go something like this:

“Someone is going to interview her on television? He’ll try to trick her, but she’ll answer all his questions and everyone will see how smart and prepared she is. Bring it on!”

“Someone wants to investigate her? Boy, when the investigation shows what a strong sense of integrity she has, voters all over America will be impressed. Bring it on!”

What ever happened to that?

Karl Rove?

Oh du schöne, oh du schöne, oh du schöne Troopergate!

Is there any situation the Animaniacs can’t help us to understand more completely?

Liberal media. Biased questions. They were just going to be mean to her anyways.

That’s an actual complaint I heard. Charlie Gibson sounded mean.

Biased courtroom. Can’t get a fair trial. Hate her for standing up to them and the special interests.

Integrity and intelligence? Voted out of office in 2000. Replaced by Down Hominess and Folksy Charm.
Elucidator. Replace the “Heil” with “HIIIiiiiii” in that rather nasal tone that Palin has and you’ll be on to something.

I got the feeling that maybe, maybe something might happen before the election, because the Palins just gave the middle finger to every single person in Alaska. I am given to understand they don’t take kindly to that.

I’m not too convinced McCain and Palin actually believe in international friendship.

Because McCain will lower taxes on the top .01%, and the folks living in trailer parks really believe in that.

A question is whether Branchflower has enough information to still release any kind of a report. He had been able to interview some of his witnesses before the McCain campaign took over. Dunno if any of them were important ones or not.

I wonder: when Palin was vetted, did McCain think Troopergate was nothing, or did they go in figuring that it was something they could stonewall to death?

I have to say, if she doesn’t win the vice-presidency, it’s going to be a lot of fun watching Palin return to Alaska to face the pent-up shitstorm. She’s going to be nostril-deep in stink.
