Can you sign my T-shirt?

Tech…I know the song, and I know the people. I just don’t get what brought this on.

What brought this on? This particular song? Or the onslaught of “Silly Songs” as a whole?

Well…
As for “Why all the songs?” - A number of reasons I guess:

  1. I have some extra spare time during the winters. 2. No cable TV. 3. The first song sticks in my head, driving me nuts (moreso), so I have to replace it with a different silly song. It’s a viscious cycle. 4. Folks seem to like them, and I like to try and make people smile. 5. I’ll never make the cover of the SDMB using my intellect.

If your question was: “What brought on this particular song?” I guess it’s because I seen that Satan had posted recently, and I wanted to maybe give him a smile to try and thank him for all the great posts and threads of his I have read since I have been here.

I hope that answers the question.

Ad Noctum: Um… my friend, I didn’t *beat * anybody.
It’s not a competition, and your contributions are very clever, so don’t stop writing “Silly Songs”. And thanks.

Ice Wolf: Noooooo, I never worked for them, but I must confess that I read every issue of MAD mag as a kid. (Though my online “fold-in” thread was a huge flop.) Thanks for noticing the similarities.

Silly Rabbit: Of course. You can have my t-shirt. Anything for my favorite groupie. [sup](My only groupie but why quibble?)[/sup]

techchick68: Thank you! That sound file link was perfectly appropriate. (Except it scared my cats and made my dog howl)
I am glad you liked the song. I’ll do anything for that smile of yours, techie.

The Mermaid: I was wondering who was going to post that particular link to this thread.
tries to look innocent
(She did it Brian! - She did it! Not me!) [sup]hehe-thanks[/sup]

wevets: “Favorite poster??” You are way too nice for your own good. I am very flattered. Thanks. I’m sure if you look around more you’ll find someone wayyyy more fun to read than me. This place is crawling with cool people.
[sub]My favorite poster remains that Farrah Fawcett one from the 70’s. Mmmmmmmmmm, Farrah baby.[/sub]

Ashtar, Cajun Man, casdave, heraldgwena, lolagranola, Glitch, Nocturne, Persephone, robgruver, SilkyThreat, Shadowfox, Tripler, tubagirl
I sincerely thank you all. And the other folks whom I failed to thank in the previous silly song threads. I very much appreciate the comments, they make my day.

smug:

Well if it’s anything worthy of noting I did download the original song from Napster cuz I rarely get to listen to the classic radio station anymore. I work mostly from home these days and I never have the radio on.

Oh and the dog and the cat don’t freak out when I jam…they are well in tuned to mom jammin to music at levels that are so loud the neighbors two houses away can hear it. Been that all their precious lives.

Anyhow I did dig it and think you did an awesome job with the lyrics! Oh and I am smiling

The spirit of Elvis is in ya son!

Yeah, and it did! Thanks, Smug!

(Even though there’s no way I would ever bet on me against Drainy in a flaming contest…)

Oh, and Drain Bead thanks you for giving her the better solo.

Yer pal,
Satan (and Drainy)
