I generally hate these things.
It was cute with PB1K, because it was a novelty. Nobody had ever hit that mark before.
I don’t think I had a 1K party. If I did, someone else threw it, and I never bothered to show up. They just drank all the beer and danced without me.
But I feel the need to post on this one, mainly because for once, everyone can see what kind of place this is. It’s not, as so many people often say, “just a message board.” It’s a place to vent, to meet friends, and perhaps even to fall in love. You get out of it what you’re willing to put into it. If you think it’s just a message board, then you’ll never understand what it’s like for the rest of us. And I feel bad for that, because I’ve made a few valuable friends here, learned a little bit about everything, and even fell madly in love with the OP of this thread. To me, it’s not just a message board. It’s a haven. It’s my favorite bar down the street, the one where everyone knows my name. It’s the first place I go when I’m feeling down, and the first place I go when I want to share joy. I’ve laughed at Flypsyde’s one-liners so hard that I cried. I cried when I found out Kelli’s mom was okay, until I realized that it was nothing to cry about, and I smiled. It’s NOT “just a message board.”
That’s why I’m posting to Brian’s 3K thread. He brought up some good points, and I’ll be damned if I let them get buried in the stampede of congratulations.
