Save the life of a movie character who didn't deserve to die the way they did.

Ah-nold keeps his word; Sully lives.

X2 - Dr. Jean Grey - You can do that telekinetic thing from pretty much anywhere - stay in the plane!

I’ve got to say that Dobby was always the Jar Jar Binks of the Harry Potter saga for me. If possible, I’d find a way to kill him twice.

Well, there’s Doctor Erskine, who neither deserved to die nor turned out to be “not really dead” – and who could’ve been saved with little more than a well-placed word ahead of time, by giving Colonel Tommy Lee Jones a heads-up about the lone infiltrator. (I’m guessing that ends WWII a heck of a lot sooner while setting America up with the cure for a whole bunch of illnesses.)

As for me, though: Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Mary tells our hero it’s time to leave for the theater? Yeah, a word to the wise shouldn’t take long.

Shhhh, Rose, there’s room for the both of you on that floating door!

I came in here to say John Coffey.

I gotta go with Hicks here. But my plan will by effect save them both. Kind of against the rules, but so be it.

All I need is me, a flamer, and a couple of hours aboard the Sulaco, to track down any and all Alien eggs that are (somehow or other) aboard the Sulaco or the dropship in the hanger.

Eggs and facehuggers within get turned into crispy critters, and Hicks gets home safe, and never has to buy a beer in a USMC bar again, with a story about his last mission.

Mary Corleone in The Godfather Part III. Not that I give a shit about her, it’s just that that ending was so damned stupid.

Not movie, but TV.

I will be behind the counter when Agent Simon Donovan comes in to liquor store. When he pulls his weapon and subdues the armed robber, I will inform him that the robber has an armed accomplice who is sneaking up behind him. Agent Donovan turns around and puts two in that mug’s chest.

Then he can go and collect C.J. Craig and they make mad, passionate love.

Since I’m on the “Really Cool Dudes” list…and I still happen to have the keys to Skald’s secret lair from a couple of years ago, I’m taking two turns.

First, I’m going to ST: Generations and saving Captain Kirk. He deserves a much more glorious death than that. I’ll recklessly spend whatever it takes to get him safely out of that movie, then take him and the original Enterprise to the battle at Wolf 359. Kirk gets to gloriously evacuate all hands, rig up special massive explosive charges all over the ship, plant himself in the Captain’s chair, and ram the Borg Cube, causing it to blow up and saving the day one last time while earning his seat in Valhalla.

Next, I’m bending the rules a bit, cuz I’m Oak and I do that, and going to Game of Thrones World. I’m going to save Ned Stark by drowning Geoffrey soon after the little rat bastard is born.

She got better.

(Well, depending on your definition of “better”.)

Hey, Bill Connor! Duck!

he only promised to kill him last, not to let him live

YES!!!

Obi-Wan Kenobi. He kicked DV’s ass once, why not just a backflip, hit the door close button while keeping DV on the other side and board the MF?

He’s way better in the books, making appearances in most of them. His appearances in the films do make him seem like Jar Jar.

I’m curious if you think his book character is all that annoying. I kind of liked “book Dobby”.

In the original Total Recall, there’s a scene where Arnold is racing up an escalator and some random guy on it gets shot, then Arnie subsequently uses him as a shield for the remainder of the escalator ride.

That guy.

I also don’t think Kate Beckinsale’s character should’ve died at the end of Van Helsing, it just seemed tacked on to be “poignant” but really felt clumsy and artificial. As nobody likes that movie I guess it ultimately doesn’t matter.

beat me to it.

Hey, I liked that movie. Well, it was pretty good.

And I agree that her death was really weird and unnecessary.

Since the door’s already been opened for TV shows, my vote is for Jadzia Dax.

I know the story behind the contract kerfuffle and everything, but a bit of respect for the fans & the franchise would have been nice.

It’s been ages since I’ve seen the episode, so my plan might be a bit thin, but Jadzia goes with the Defiant to the Battle of Chin’toka & dies in battle and some anonymous red shirt ends up as fodder for Gul Dukat back on DS9.
