Scariest Web site?

Not sure where it’s from originally, but it’s at the Creepypasta page on Encyclopedia Dramatica. Specifically, here.

Thinking of which, the Holders series has a few good ones. And there’s also Microhorror, the site of horror stories with less than 666 words. As with all user-submitted-content sites, the quality of the stories on both sites varies greatly.

(My personal favorite SCP item, incidentally, is SCP-682, mostly for the log of attempts to kill it.)

Creepypasta! I love that site.

more creepy than scary, but try googling “Sedlec ossuary”
Room 26 just gave me a heart attack.

I’m sending you the hospital bill.
The creepiest (IMO) SCP article is SCP-093.

Make sure to read ALL the “tests” at the bottom (blue, green violet, yellow, red,) (the tests are the actual creepy part,) and then the ‘recovered materials.’ to finally make yourself stop going “WTF?!”

Freaky as HELL!

The 99 rooms site and the SCP site are right along the lines of what I was looking for; thanks! I remember Ted’s Caving story from a few years back; always fun to revisit that one, too.

This scares the hell out of me!

Did you ever dream this man?

Anyway, time for my contribution.
For the last two years, I’ve been a big fan of this website. Nay, I could spend hours on it.
You just click on any of the “locations” and read the history and see old photos and then, whenever you’re ready, scroll down to the bottom of each page to click on and visit the “gallery” of that location and view shots taken by people who seek these sort of places out.

Some of the photos really want to make you look over your shoulder to make sure you’re alone.

Ages ago I looked through a website showing pictures from an abandoned city near Chernobyl - ack freaky as get go - Anyone know and got a link?

Please explain. I’d go myself but I am too easily scared.

I just read the whole thing and that is really cool! Very imaginative and pretty creepy!

Read about recovered bodies that have never been identified, some from decades back. Contemplate your own mortality and that of your family members while viewing haunting facial reconstructions. Chilling and horrifyingly real.

That’s one of my faves. It’s so odd.

It’s not a scary site. It shows an identikit-style drawing of a man’s face who purportedly is dreamed about by people all over the world. I don’t blindly click links either, but this one is safe and very interesting.

Yes, I do. It can be found at Asylum Eclectica > Dark and Gruesome Links> Urban Exploration.

This site is huge and full of fascinating and factual frightening things. One of the best.

I had seen the caving page years ago and love it. I just finished the Dionaea House and all the related blog links. It’s really good!

I’ve never seen that, but now I want to!

I don’t think there’s a synopsis and I’m kind of afraid to summarize it without spoiling it. It’s about a guy who goes off to investigate why a friend of his killed two people then committed suicide. There’s a hint in the title about how things go: Dionaea muscipula is more commonly known as the Venus Flytrap.

Holy Shit, I was barely on that site for 2 minutes, and could barely sleep last night. Taking my dog outside at 3am was terrifying too. I’m not usually easily scared, but I did not want to dream that dude, and the more I thought about not doing so, the more I knew it would be certain that I would.

<shudder>

Well, that’s how it works, right? I’m glad to see the site itself acknowledges that it could simply be people exposed to the picture, who then dream of it, or (IMHO most likely) that people assign the features ex post facto to a man in their dreams.

I’m really enjoying SCP. That picture for the Hanged King play is incredibly creepy (though I think the high heels detract from it). I’m bouncing back and forth between freakingmyself out with Objectrecordsand having fun reading about the wiki. I’m tempted to try to write the perfect storm of done-to-death Objects. Maybe a indestructible spherical cat from the future that makes you go insane and also fight good.

There’s something very creepy about that drawing; the proportions are off in some way I can’t define that makes it look very sinister.

Whenever the Dero start harrassing me with night terrors I get my Tire Thumper out of the closet and threaten severe harm on anything that tries to mess with me in the dark of night. Whether it was that or not, I did not dream of “this man”.
