Schools shootings hoax in GA

I’m currently in Savannah, in a hotel about a mile or two from Savannah HS. I was reading in bed when I became aware of sirens going by. At first, eh, it’s a city, there are always sirens. But they kept coming, and traveling at scary speed when they could. At that point I had no idea what was going on, but the sheer numbers and varieties of LE screaming by was definitely unnerving. I swear it was at least 15 minutes that they just kept coming.

I had been going to try and get a walk in before the rain, decided to stay out for a while!

I am so, so glad there was no carnage, and I hope they can track the source of those calls. That massive level of LE response comes at a huge cost, and not all of it is financial.

I don’t know if this is the case in Georgia, but in the Chicago area, a lot of election polling places are located at schools – with early voting going on for the Senate runoff in Georgia, it makes me wonder if the hoax calls were intended to disrupt voting.

Possibly? But classes were in session, so … ?

This is the first I have heard of multiple, apparently coordinated hoaxes in one state, but hoaxes like this in general have been going on for a while around the country, which makes me doubt it has anything to with the election. I would guess just more of the same hoaxes like the ones reported below.
