one - three quick questions for anybody who’s got the time. who is the highest scoring player in the history of

and

c) football (american, not european, asian, african, everybody else)
thanks,

If you mean runs scored, Ricky Henderson just passed Ty Cobb for the career record. If you mean RBI, it’s Hank Aaron.

Wayne Gretzky has both the most goals and most assists in the NHL.

Jerry Rice has the most overall touchdowns and most receiving touchdowns. Emmitt Smith has the most rushing touchdowns.

If in baseball you mean homeruns then Hank Aaron has the most. If you mean runs scored, Rickey Henderson just got the lead.

However, if you mean just total points scored the record is held by a kicker, Gary Anderson, with 2,059 points (676 Points After Touchdown and 461 Field Goals). George Blanda (2,002) is second with 9 Touchdowns, 943 Points After Touchdown, and 335 Field Goals.

sidebar to this thread…

Yeah, I know, some folks don’t consider Canadian football the “real thing”, however, the all-time leading scorer in any form of football is Lui Passaglia, recently retired place-kicker/punter who played 25 seasons in the CFL, all for British Columbia Lions. His final total was 3985 points, which included 2 touchdowns, a rarity for kickers.
He also missed only two converts throughout his career, impressive in any league.
