Scott Walker is in

Scott Walker is out.

What a LOSER!

AP News is saying the same: Walker To Drop Out Of Gop Presidential Race.

Buh-bye.

Maybe this will give him the time to finish his college degree.

All that money the Kookie Monster brothers spent on him. All down the drain, wasted. All wasted. What a shame. What a shame.

Some good news for a change. Hooray.

And the thread winner is . . .

Boyo Jim, who called it back on August 11.

Kind of bizarre to bail at the first drop in the polls. Plenty of candidates have suffered worse and gone on to win the nomination. And given how many sketchy candidates are running this cycle, it seems even more likely Walker still had a non-trivial chance of winning.

Bets on who’s next? Cruz? Carson? Christie? Jon Huntsman?

Could he be pulling a Ross Perot on us all?

Carson? Dude’s surging.

I say next out will be Jindal, followed by Santorum, then Graham.

More than “the first drop”; his numbers have been spiraling down for weeks, and he’d dropped to the bottom rung of candidates (based on poll numbers). Over the past week, in particular, it’s become clear that there was increasing unhappiness (and maybe panic) in his camp, and it looks like the cash spigots were drying up (based on reports of unpaid bills).

Cruz is not dropping out, he’s going to stay in the background ready to pounce on the Trump idiots as soon as he is out. Carson might fade away now that Fiorina is the new hotness, but i doubt he drops before Graham or Santorum or Christie.

Cruz??? I don’t think that guy has even had his surge yet. He’s my least favorite candidate running, but I think he’s going places. I don’t think he’ll drop until actual voting begins.

Christie will stay in to try an secure a VP nom. He knows he can’t win the primary but he hopes to stay relevant til the end.

Press conference forthcoming, for the interested.

Nobody’s been interested before. Why start now?

Santorum is on a mission from God, and isn’t going anywhere until the almighty tells him to. Graham isn’t trying to be President, he just wants to make sure there’s someone around to argue with Rand Paul. I doubt either will drop out soon, and Santorum might just hang out till the convention like he did last time.

Jindal maybe. But I think he’s just running to up his name recognition before he has to go find a new job, so I imagine he’ll stick around until enough people drop so that he can get into the “big-kids” debates.

In the 1 minute press conference, Walker suspended his campaign. According to him, he’s suspending the campaign to allow the voters and the GOP to focus on one solid alternative to Donald Trump. Not the fact that he’s at less than 1%, no way!
