Scott Walker is in

I found this article on Scott Walker today while I was reading about something else. The article talks about a recent appearance Gov. Walker made on Sean Hannity’s show where he was asked about abortion to save a woman’s life. Gov. Walker had this to say:

As the Washington Monthly piece goes on to describe, Gov. Walker is incorrect here. Demonstrably, factually wrong.

How did this clown get elected, let alone re-elected, as Governor?

The thing that makes him dangerous is that he pretends to be indifferent, even somewhat reasonable sounding, on the crazy end of right wing social policy. He’s had a huge advanage in WI where he can get all the shit he wants passed without going out on a limb in public and really pushing for any of it. He doesn’t need to.

But IMO this won’t work with 2016’s stable of Republican candidates. He HAS to make a lot of noise or he will be completely overlooked and be out of the running before he even realizes it.

I wasn’t sure where to put this, but ultimately decided on this thread.

In another thread there has been much discussion of what is and is not a free fall in the polls. This is what one looks like.

I don’t understand it, because as I said in another thread, Walker inspires the most fear and loathing in me of all the Republican candidates (which is really saying something). And I thought he was impressive at the debate, but not according to everyone else. The pundit/prognosticator in me is like “WTF, people–you are messing up my bracket!” LOL But given that the polls still show him to be one of the most formidable standardbearers in general election matchups, my inner partisan Democrat is loving it. This, from a recent NPR story on Walker’s fall in Iowa, is a LMAO, pinch-me dream quote:

You go, Iowa Republicans…you beautiful, crazy bastards.

Somebody raised the issue of a wall on the Canadian border at a town hall. Walker says it is a legit issue.

I just pray somebody brings up a potential zombie uprising at his next town hall meeting.

Tsk. It was fun while it lasted . . .

It’s a joke.

Erm, yeah, I pretty much got that from the headline: “CUTTING LOSSES, KOCHS TO SELL SCOTT WALKER”.

If the only thing good to come out of the 2016 race is Scott Walker getting his ass kicked, I’ll be satisfied.

Walker to spend $16 million on union-bashing ad campaign.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy two seconds of time immediately after each Trump appearance to say “ME TOO!!!”?

Reminds me of a Tweet I saw a week or so ago. I forget who wrote it:

“I want Trump to start claiming things like he’s eaten 1,000 bees in his life so we can see Scott Walker try to eat a bunch of bees.”

Are there still 1,000 bees to be eaten?

I cannot imagine a more harmful position unless someone wanted to make it illegal to speak out loud or write things down.

For those Dopers who might also be in Las Vegas and want to be there, the [Clark County Republican Party website says:

Since Walker shit on unions repeatedly and sailed to reelection, hopefully this is the thing to get his candidacy back on track. The days of unelected public unions buying politicians so they can rob taxpayers are behind us hopefully.

Yeah! In the ideal world, only the corporate owners and officers of companies should be allowed to buy politicians so they can rob taxpayer–as they did before there were unions (and continue to do today). Finally you have posted something we can all get behind.

I can’t tell whether this is intended seriously or as a parody of right-wing thought. So hard to tell the difference these days.

Have you not noticed that Walker’s proposals would gut private-sector unions as well?

Poe’s Law.
