So apparently, some people didn’t like me choosing Thursday. The explanantion I gave, which I threw out to address Cias’s first query, then attracted Thing Fish’s attention:
The accusations are there, that I deliberately set the Day to end Thursday as part of some sinister agenda. Yeah, okay. But now I am feeling obsessive enough to check CiaS’s list, and find it a bit, well, full of crap.
On looking over early Day 1 for references to preferred leader vote times, I come up with this list:

The entries in italics are the ones included on CiaS’s list. But nice work - accuse me of sloppiness, of overlooking things, of ignoring data, when my own list is practically double the length of yours - even ignoring the “I was sworn in” entries. Granted, Oredigger shows up on my list multiple times, but if I am scanning the thread looking for preferred times and Thursday keeps popping up, is it any mystery I ended up counting Thursday votes more?
I particularly like Normal Phase - CiaS’s list includes him in favour of Tuesday, but he actually said he preferred a Wednesday vote for a Thursday finish shortly later. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you wont forgive mine I certainly wont forgive the grevious ones you make in the post pointing out my mistakes.
Also, not included on either list was my own preference, mainly because I did not feel the need to tell myself. But I preferred a Thursday vote, too. Ignoring my vote that puts it 5 votes to 3, (not the 5 to 2 CiaS would have you believe,) including it is 5 votes to 4, and given Oredigger and Tom Scud’s* repetition on their opinion for Thursday, is it really any mystery I picked Thursday?
In conclusion, if you are one of the people who thought I either fucked up the time or deliberately chose Thursday to further some mysterious Scum agenda you can bite my balls, because nothing undermines an accusation like basing it on incomplete and incorrect data.
*check the list. Scud eventually chose Tuesday but mentioned Thursday a few times before changing his mind.

OK - hopefully that’s captured some usable data. Having gone through it, there are a couple of things that have jumped out at me that I want to compare to various players’ post content. But I would encourage people to go through this themselves and see what they make of it, rather than relying on one or two people to interpret it for us.

Ah, I was thinking more of USCDiver’s asking if we should ask him to request a sub. On which I’m torn, as I basically don’t like subbing anyone out. On the other hand, he didn’t make the posts he said he was going to make on Sunday afternoon, so I don’t know if he’s going to be able to continue playing.
Neither does AllWalker.

I don’t know, Drain Bead, that doesn’t look all that smudgy to me. “Posts that had me raising my eyebrows” just sounds to me like the sort of fine-tooth-combing that everyone does to everyone else in these games.
Meanwhile, another idea: It occurs to me that we can put peeker’s claim to at least a partial test. Suppose peeker were to post, a minute before the end of the Night (or even right at the scheduled Crack of Dawn, since it’s likely to take the moderators a minute or two to post the Dawn reveal post), whom he protected over the Night? This would presumably be too late for the Scum to change their target, but as long as it comes before the moderator post, it would enable us to see whether his protectee lived or died. Can anyone come up with any flaws with this idea?
Lets us know who peeker thinks is worth protecting; doesn’t resolve the issue that he might be a Scum doctor; and doesn’t account for the possibility of roleblockers or redirectors playing games with us.
Other than that, no issues.
I thought it was a smudge because he said there were things that bothered him, but didn’t bother stating what the things were (kinda like the “a bunch” smudge I pointed out earlier). My thoughts were confirmed as time went on and he didn’t bother actually pointing out the posts I made–I always figured that even if he did come back to the game, he probably wouldn’t bother posting his evidence. Again, though, since I know I’m Town, my perceptions of his actions are colored by that knowledge, and I’m perfectly willing to accept the fact that others may not view it as such.
