I completely understand your use of the word simpatico, but it really grates me to hear that word used in connection with the republican party today.
Just say “simp” for short.
Claymores with THIS SIDE TOWARDS ENEMY on the front and are command detonated. They could sell the right to push the button to their higher donators.
Y’all just aren’t thinking the way a magaflatearther does. Yes, your predictions/suggestions are cruel, which, of course, is the point, but they’re just not cruel enough. The only viable selection is a cross between The Most Dangerous Game and The Running Man. But the trick here is the target does not ever get to win.
Now that’s a good suggestion!
Stay classy, Greg. Stay classy. (The link goes to The Guardian.)
The Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, mistakenly offered his condolences to Jimmy Carter’s dead wife shortly after the Democratic former president died on Sunday.
Abbott’s statement sent “prayers and deepest condolences” to former first lady Rosalynn Carter and the rest of her family shortly after her husband’s death at the age of 100, as the Dallas news station WFAA reported. But Rosalynn Carter had died more than a year earlier – on 19 November 2023, at age 96.
The Democratic party of Collins county, Texas, seized on the blunder and wrote on X: “Did anyone in the governor’s office proof the condolence note?”
Another social media user wrote, “Condolences to Rosalynn Carter? She passed in Nov of 2023. WTF is wrong with you?”
The answer to that last question is: Plenty.
Not sure if he was intentionally trying to be a prick, because even if it was an honest mistake, then I can see GA just handwaving it away without acknowledgement, sparing himself the ego-destroying terror of fessing up to his blunder.
I think it was a mistake not an intentional slight. It doesn’t reflect badly on the Carters; it reflects badly on Abbott.
An honest mistake? No, I’d call it a STUPID mistake. The governor of a state shouldn’t make such a mistake. Either he should be as aware as ordinary citizens of the death of someone like Mrs. Carter, or he should have staff who are aware of these things. IOW don’t let your boss make a mistake that causes him to look like any more of a clueless, insensitive doofus than he already appears to be.
Not the first time I’ve mentioned it here but, I’ve said for several years if they put something along these lines on pay-per-view the national debt could be paid off in a matter of months, mostly paid for by residents of red states. Pay extra and get to control the mines or some machine guns remotely.
For as much talk that Republicans have about how migrant lives are worthless, they’re too chicken shit to actually push a button or pull a trigger themselves for the most part. That’s what they have the military for. That important degree of separation. So they, themselves, don’t feel like murderers.
I disagree. Migrants are not actual people to them. Wrong skin color. They are viewed more as a pestilence.
Killing vermin would never make MAGAs feel like murderers and that is how they view migrants.
Abbott has just said that flags on state of Texas buildings will not be at half-staff for Trump’s inauguration. I guess the traditional 30 days for the death of a former president is less important than sucking up to Trump.

I guess the traditional 30 days for the death of a former president is less important than sucking up to Trump.
The Orange Peril is scarier than the threat of being haunted by Jimmy Carter’s ghost I suppose.
Concerning the thread title, can he?
