Now I’m no great fan of Rushbaugh, but given that I’m sure many of our illustrious readership share Rush’s weight, drug, and/or lovelife problems, I’m surprised that you and your liberal brethren and sistren in this thread would make such bigoted, intolerant and insensitive remarks about another human being.

So, I guess based on what I’ve seen around here, even the overweight, drug-addicted and lovelorn among our liberal populace are more than happy to read such aspersions cast upon one who, if not for his political stance, is much like they are themselves.
This makes it difficult for us conservatives to take (many of) you in the liberal populace seriously when they (erroneously) castigate us for being the party of bigotry, discrimination, intolerance, etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
Because you see, you guys are no different whatsoever!
The only differences are that you’re at the other end of the political spectrum and you’re more eager and passionate to display your own bigoted, insensitive and intolerant behavior because you think you have high-minded righteousness on your side.

That sentence was edited several times as the result of my trying to phrase it in such a way as to allow any liberals who might like (and possibly with good cause) to opt out of my description of what I see as typical liberal behavior to do so.
Its not just that hes a fat junkie, but that hes a fat junkie who lies, makes fun of little girls for being awkward, and generally acts like an awful human being for a living. If he was a kind fat junkie, Id be more understanding of women wanting to date him. But not only is his appearance unappealing, but hes shown himself to be a poor human being who really doesnt deserve another chance at love.
Muad’Dib would do just about anything for a beef, bean & cheese burrito, and you can bet Rush has got the hook up for those.
But you see, the problem in my eyes is that he isn’t being castigated solely for his behavior; rather, he is being castigated for being fat, unattractive, drug-addicted, etc., etc. This type of behavior is roundly excoriated around here if it’s aimed at someone like Michael Moore, but a virtual orgy of it ensues if the subject is someone like Limbaugh…hence, the hypocrisy I speak of.

BTW, Rush Limbaugh is not, strictly speaking, a conservative. Few media-prominent people are anymore. My idea of a “conservative” is George Will. What Rush is is a propaganda machine for the corporatist right.

Consider his bragging about ridiculing the stature of Clinton’s Press Secretary, George Stephanopoulos. It may very well be bad taste to ridicule Limbaugh’s appearance, but I find his being guilty of it to be a mitigating circumstance.
Exactly. This is the man who called Chelsea Clinton the “white house dog.” Saying bad things about Bill and Hillary is understandable…they`re politicians, and part of being a politician, sadily, is getting demonized by your opposition. Chelsea was an awkward teen at the time, and deserved to be left alone.
Mary Lynn Rajskub is hardly my idea of a trophy girlfriend. Personally, I think she’s one of the most unnattractive female leads I’ve ever seen on a major TV show. I’d rather look at Sean Astin than her, and I’m straight.
What bugs me about her is her bizarre chin. It’s basically non-existent. It just ends right under her bottom lip.
But even without the chin I don’t think she’s attractive enough for TV. I work with women hotter.
I think most 24 fans just like the character.
I admit she looks more like a real person than a super model. I, however, think it’s a Good Thing.
I find fault with the “smelling sour milk” expression that character uses most of the time.
Well, perhaps it’s just because we conservatives are a more accepting and less judgemental lot, but I think she’s kind of cute.
