Screw You (Unnamed Board)!

In order to not drag Dopers to visit the other board, it shall remain unnamed.

Screw you Unnamed Board! I have been a member of the board for several years. When I came it was a place for professional and semi-professional discussion of military matters around the world. Now it has declined to a rah-rah pro-America, pro-Republican, mindless, racist unprofessional cesspit.

And…

When I point that out, I am attacked.

Jiminey Flipping Cricket! When I posted this stupid letter to the editor blaming the press for reporting the pepper-spraying at UC-Davis, a poster actually said most people from his location agreed! So I simply pointed out that people from Alabama have a history of opinions not encumbered by higher brain function, he took offense!

Screw you, you stupid pointy-headed non-reading rear-echelon, non-CIB-wearing idiot! And your syphilitic horse.

Really, fuck you all. I used to like the site, but the low level to which the discussion has sunk is breathtaking. People on this site claim to think Obama was born outside the US. Hell, I live in Saudi Arabia and even I think that is crackers.

Oh, and another thing, you non-combative, defeatist, cowardly shits, we cannot win a war for the people of the Middle-East unless we have people fighting their culture in the Middle-East. People like me.

If you want to call Arabs “Sand people” and worse knock yourselves out (please) but stop sending them money! Here I am trying to change things and you are shoveling cash into their hands. So of course it is my fault I am supporting the Arabs.

Fucking headjobs.

I half-suspect that my comments about the pointing headed, corn pone eating knuckle-dragger from Ala-flipping-bama may actually get me banned. I have decided to never darken your site again with my presence. Not even to see if I am banned.

Your site brings me into contact with the sort of lowlifes I would just as soon not associate with.

Drop dead,

Kind regards,

Paul, in Qatar

If even half of that is true, may that site go burn in hell.

Hey, *I *take offense, and I’m not even from Alabama!

Yeah, T*N can be a really scary place sometimes. You and I don’t neccessarily share the same political views, but at least in terms of general sanity, we’re both on the same side of the fence. I’ve been lurking there for a long time, and while it can serve as the occasional palate cleanser after too long on the SDMB, at times it seems like what some of the conservative contigent here accuse this board of being, only right- instead of left-wing. Going there reminds me why I’m a member here.

Then to top it all off, I just brushed my teeth with my shaving soap! (Now how can I blame them for that?)

You know Paul, you sound as though you’d fit in perfectly. Oh, your opiniopns may be divergent, but you seem to share the same judgmentalism, the same prejudice, and the same hypocrisy you accuse them of. At the risk of making this thread useful, I seem to recall a certain individuals mentioning something about motes and planks.

That was a good book! But I don’t remember Hazel Motes walking a plank, or any pirates at all.

There’s a motorcycle forum dedicated to my specific make and model. It is great for tech info but the rampant racism, anti liberal and virulent anti Obama mindset of the majority have made me reluctant to post there.

It’s so bad that when I see my make of bike on the road I automatically think “tea party racist” which has made me think about trading bikes.

They’re pretty dead now but y’all should have seen any IMDb board related to 9/11 five years ago. Moonbat central! Including at least one actual moon hoax believer.

So being judgmental is wrong? I’ll remember that the next time I see you judge someone.

Or maybe you can realize that this is the Pit, and he’s just letting off steam.

Hold on a minute here. I’m confused. If you live in Saudi Arabia, why’d you change your name to Paul in Qatar? I spent two weeks wandering around Doha calling out, “Paul, Paul, where are you?” you wanker.

I have no idea why conservatives even use the internet. Seeing as Al Gore invented it, you’d think they’d have a sour taste in their mouth every time they opened a new browser tab.

Don’t play innocent. You should’ve known what you were getting into when you bought a Vespa PK 50.

at first i thought it was about this knife maker but he’s not from alabama.

Gosh, I feel so much better having made my decision and having made it publicly.

You know, throwing up is good for you!

There’s someone who believes the moon is a hoax? How do they explain the big thing in the sky?

It’s a mirage caused by the sun reflecting off one of the oceans.

I belong to a local message board that I joined before I moved to this area, hoping to perhaps meet some folks before getting here. I probably should have read a few more threads before indulging in that hope.

The political extremists are sickeningly partisan and willfully ignorant. Even their thread titles are offensive, which makes it easier to avoid such inanity. Their MPSIMS-like forum is, at best, juvenile. New members who ask questions that may have been discussed 3 or 4 years ago are berated when presented with a link. The self-appointed “cool kids” bring out the in-jokes to attack n00bs in the best junior high school clique style you can imagine. One particular “cool kid” is unfailingly rude and juvenile.

Every once in a while, I peek back in, hoping futilely to find a flash of intelligence or common sense, and I’m inevitably disappointed. The only value I’ve gotten from the board is the forum dealing with local businesses - it helps to know who has a good reputation for tree removal or painting or construction. I’ve also gotten a few good restaurant ideas, altho I can think of two in particular that really stunk.

So I’m not quite to the “screw you” point, but I definitely approach the board cautiously and infrequently.
