I’m pretty sure you guys are technically defrauding all the other advertisers when you take their money for an impression that can never actually be seen by a user because it’s hidden behind the full-screen popup.
PC - Firefox - lots of javascript script stalls

Post problem reports here? Fine. Here you go.
To whom do I send the .png images of screenshots of the two auto downloads that hit my computer and started to DO things as they opened?
Here are the two addresses from the address bars.
Oh, the second one is pretty long.
Tough.
It is pretty clear that the SDMB is no longer about Fighting Ignorance. It’s only about Ca$h for Click$.
You may want to change the adorable catch-phrase up there at the top left in the banner.
" Hacking into your OS since 2015 Because We Have To " is a bit more accurate.

I keep getting a Pop up saying 'Script Error ’ then the screen goes blank , is anyone else having this happen ? This just started today.
Tonight I’m getting repeated warnings from McAfee: When we visited this site, we found it exhibited one or more risky behaviors. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there anything I need to do? I close the browser and come back and it happens again.
Just added Adblock Plus to my Opera browser (Win 10) - annoying docking ads are gone! Woo hoo!! Sorry, Ed, I do feel a bit guilty, but it was just too much to take.
Oops! I meant to post this in the “docking ads” thread. That’s what was “just too much to take.” Sorry!
Pop-up ads in iOS?
You must be joking.
Are you guys just looking for the point people are leaving?
Look no further.
It seems like I have just started seeing ads in the last few months, although the OP is from 2015. But since they have started appearing, the site is much slower and frequently crashes my browser (Firefox). Will buying a membership make these go away? If not, I don’t think I’ll be around here much anymore.
OK, paid for subscription and I am blessedly adless. Best $15 I ever spent.
one of us… one of us…
I am getting popovers at the bottom of my screen that take up about 1/4 of the screen with no x to cancel them. Makes trying to read the forum very unpleasant. I use chrome.
Those would be the docking ads.

Very unpleasant. The official answer you’re going to get is to buy a membership.
Just started today: page is often hijacked. Once it was a survey for Comcast, once an ad for McAfee, and there were about a half dozen others I failed to take note of. I can get rid of them by hitting the back button, but it’s a real nuisance.
I’m using Safari.
Same here, with the added joy that every once in a while the hijacked to page decides to download a flash update for me. This is crap.
My pages are hijacked as well - one for a “windows optimizer”, one for a “call this number to unlock you PC” scam and one for Comcast.
Those are bad but you DO NOT want to involved with Comcast. Those are some nasty MFs. ![]()
I had my adblock disabled for a bit and I got a couple page redirects, took me right out of the reply window. On Chrome.
On my Mac I frequently, while simply reading a thread, get redirected to http://learn2upgrade.upgradeinstall24freshandalwaysfree.
I keep getting hijacks, most recently while I was working on a post . This is really annoying. I can deal with the ads, but these hijacks are really too much.
