SDMB Auction FF League 2010

Just a reminder, the Thursday games start this week with Bal @ Atl. You’ll need to set your lineups early for players in that game.

Which brings us to this trade. As It’s Not Rocket Surgery is now acquiring two players involved in tonight’s game, how will the review process work? I assume the trade is getting pushed through. I imagine he would want to start White right away and not lose a game from him. I’ll be at work all night, so I won’t be able to make any updates after 5ET.

As far as I can tell, the trade either gets pushed through or it doesn’t. If it does, Rice and White leave my team and so my starting spots will clear for Chris Johnson and Brandon Marshall. If it doesn’t get pushed through, I’m going to bench Rice and White so that those spots are free for the weekend and I don’t get tied to the departing players’ points. The trade should process by Sunday so I can manually adjust my new starters then.

Yeah I’ll go ahead and push it through now. I don’t anticipate a problem.

Since there were no objections, I’m extending the trade deadline by two weeks.

Also, I’ll remind everyone of how we handle the players from Thursday night games in regard to the waiver wire. Yahoo automatically puts all players on waivers from Sunday at 1pm until Tuesday night, to give everyone a shot at grabbing breakout free agents. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a waiver option for “put player on waivers at the start of their game”, which means that Thursday night players will be up for grabs after Thursday.

So we have a rule in place: you cannot pick up a player involved in a Thursday night game as a free agent after the game starts. If you’re interested in one of those players, wait until the Sunday at 1pm waiver period (where all players, including the ones from the Thursday night game go on waivers) and put a claim in for him then.

So, for example, if Ray Rice goes down tonight because he is cleaved in twain by an Atlanta defender, you don’t pick up McClain or McGahee as a free agent tonight - you wait until the Sunday-Tuesday waiver period and put in a bid then. Anyone who jumps the gun on this will have it reverted.

Any questions?

Glad I dodged that Roddy White bullet.

Yeah, hey, what a shock. As if any decision I make in fantasy sports ever works out. I’d be real tempted to bet a thousand dollars right now that Chris Johnson and Brandon Marshall don’t score 25 pts combined on Sunday. Ugh.

I would take that bet, so you’d lose no matter what :stuck_out_tongue:

DaleJr42, you have no kicker starting against me.

Ugh. 60 yard TD for Foster called back.

Ugh! That’s the kind of week I’ve been having.

Well I screwed up the Dreessen thing, what with every other FA TE available to me scoring a touchdown and Dreessen put up a whole 0.4 points.

We’ve got some tight and important games going. Varlos with Manning, Wallce, and the Seahawks are 9 points behind Omni with Gore, Steven Jackson, and the Pats. That match could determine the #2 seed.

Show me your TDs/Overly Sentimental and Fanboys/Crowley are close too.

So I’ve run into an issue. I have Michael Vick, Dwayne Bowe, and LaGarrette Blount on my bench and I want to trade them. But… how do I improve upon my team?

I have Vick, the Steelers D and a 26 point lead over Jules, who has DeSean Jackson, Cooley, and Akers. Glad I have Vick to somewhat mitigate Jackson.

Crowley’s Bentley has a 3 point lead and Brady and Tate. Ellis Dee has LeSean McCoy.

Varlos needs Mike Wallace to make up a 16 point gap plus whatever the Pats score (or lose) to beat Omni.

Show Me Your TDs has Ryan Torain, Redskins D, and an 8 point lead over Overly Sentimental with Ward and Maclin.

Yeah, it should have been a 15 point lead, but I couldn’t get to a computer to take out Wells and replace him with Hightower when Wells was made inactive. I hate real life messing up my fantasy football.

One more catch by Wallace and Varlos pulls off an unlikely win.

That pick-6 by the Pats DEF was another killer.

The Wallace garbage time catches were all freaking me out. I was offline watching and didn’t know how close things had gotten. I felt weird cheering that last sack of Ben on the final drive as much as I did. I’d actually forgotten the Pick-6 and when doing the math in my head I figured we were about tied on that last drive.

Jammers needs to make up a 25 point gap plus whatever Vick scores with Jackson, Cooley, and Akers.

Too bad I didn’t start Dwayne Bowe. Even though he’s been great lately, it just wasn’t realistic to start him over Owens, or Johnson & Johnson.

Wouldn’t have guessed Fred Jackson and Felix Jones on Jammers’ bench would outscore Jamal Charles and Chris Johnson either.

Ellis Dee needs a 41 point game out of McCoy to beat Hamlet.

Overly Sentimental needs Maclin to outscore Torain and the Redskins D by 8 points to beat Show Me Your TDs.

I don’t need both Rodgers or Vick, so I’m willing to deal one and run with the other.

I also have Dwayne Bowe on my bench who’s put up almost 500 yards and 8 (!) TDs in the last 5 weeks.

I’d also be willing to part with Blount, who’s been scoring a steady 12-15 points over the last few weeks.

I’d also be willing to exchange Hillis or Owens/Johnson/Johnson if it were part of a bigger deal.

Throw offers my way.

That was the greatest fantasy loss I’ve ever had. I don’t even care that my season is pretty much ruined and that I was, once again, exactly right about how screwed I was after my trade. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if CJ and Marshall never combine for 25 fantasy points in a single week. Because I have the uncanny ability to bend the universe and the future in order to be proven wrong or screwed in some way. Doesn’t matter.

That was one hell of a football game to watch. Quite possibly the best I’ve ever seen any team, and any quarterback, ever play. 50 fantasy points! Insanity.

I don’t understand your frustration. If you hadn’t made the trade, you’d have scored 14 more points. The margin of victory was over 43. Even if you hadn’t made the trade and started some random 20 point QB over Vick you’d still have lost. Nothing to beat yourself up over.

Even if it’s your 82nd loss in a row to me…
