SDMB Big League Fantasy Football 2012

I can’t remember ever having a team look so good on paper and so pants in actual games - though in fairness, I’ve had a Hamletesque number of points scored against me and lost a starting RB and WR in the space of 10 minutes.

I’d say Marcellus Bennett was the best $2 I ever spent, but Heath Miller has been even better.
Somehow I scored 162 points without my top RB and WR this week. Wish I could save some of these points for later.

Looks like i’ll get a win this week, but i screwed myself out of 35 points by choosing the wrong Defense. Arizona scored 28, while Detroit managed -7.

I kept playing Detroit because i was having trouble believing that the Cardinals’ D was the real thing, but it looks like it might have the goods.

They’ve looked really good against Brady last week, and Vick this week. Good pickup. Much better than either K.C. or Washington (sigh.)

Can anyone explain why Peyton Hillis has been a bag of ass this year? I know he got injured in this game—I can add him to the hospital wing I’m building for my bench—but he’s been atrocious the two games before this one too.

If anyone has any NFL players they’d like to see hurt IRL, just trade them to me.

My team appears to be getting progressively worse with each game. It’s about the point where I’d be better off not filling all my spots.

Garcon’s Cedillia and Court Jesters are tied, it’s Garcon’s Crosby vs Jester’s Jennings.

I need 63 points out of Rodgers to beat Munch.

Dale needs 23 out of Jordy Nelson to beat Retrovertigo.

Curry Porkrinds needs 31 out of Braylon Edwards, Turbin, and Hauschka to beat Up By Three.

We had 3 teams score over 150 this week. I doubt that’s ever happened before.

$100 for Ronnie Brown? Wha…?

As the guy who overbid for Stephen Hill, I also wonder about that one. Is Mathews hurt?

Rotoworld doesn’t seem to think so, though they mention his workload will be less due to his fumbling. They still have Brinkley and Battle at RB too.

Could it be that he meant to hit $10, not $100? Far be it from me (DFL in standings and points scored: Yay!) to cast aspersions on anyone else’s personnel decisions this year.

Eventually.

I think it’s fairly obvious that we’re playing with a replacement ref who will somehow give Brown 150 yards and 3 TDs a game.

Decent shot I start 1-3, I thought I had a pretty decent team too.

Well that will teach me to go out of town - ouch. Nothing better than seeing winning points on your bench because I was a day late on the injury report. Oh well - that’s fantasy!

I was just looking at the scoring and settings, and noticed

Weekly Waivers Sunday - Tuesday

When did that change from gametime- tuesday, and are we doing gentleman’s agreement not to take people, or is it take as you want from thursday night games?

Mistake. Will fix later. No one from Thursday till the weekend.

6 receivers on my team…
1 played Thursday, sitting on my bench
1 is on a bye
1 is highly questionable
3 are out

Not much available to fill in the spots. I tried what I could (don’t worry, I didn’t drop the Thursday player).

Oh, this league… Ryan Williams on IR, and Johnathan Stewart on bye leaves me nothing to start at RB2.

And RB free agent depth in this league is insanely useless.

I’m forced to start Tim Tebow this week, hoping this is the week Sanchez is benched.

This league is so thin on RBs that I’m going to have to use Chris OBGYN as a bye week filler. No idea what I’m going to do when Shanihan decides Alfred Morris goes back on the shelf.

Anyone interested in trading an RB for AJ Green or Julio Jones? I’d also take a downgrade at QB (Rodgers) if it came with an RB. Maybe Rodgers + Jonathan Stewart for some worse QB but better RB?

I hear you on the RB depth. This week I got absurdly lucky with Redman in as RB2. Normally, I would not have him anywhere near my starting lineup. I am also pretty sure all of his yards on Thursday came from receptions.
