SDMB Big League Fantasy Football 2012

I sent you one too.

There was almost nothing on the free agent list for a defense, I had to come up with something. So I figure NYJ is as inept as anyone on offense and took the Colts. -10. 1 point away from the most negative possible score. May single handedly sink me this week.

I was up 20 points a few hours ago. Then they fixed the score on Dez Bryant and it’s a dead heat. Crap crap crap.

I was looking ahead to next week, and was bummed that 2 of my 3 best players were on bye. Then, I looked at my opponent. Both starting running backs, and 2 wide receivers were out. Sorry Scissor Me Timbers. (Though if we both get kickers, and he moves his bench to his bye spots, he’s projected to win)

This is the worst fantasy football team I’ve ever owned. I’m 0-5 and haven’t broken 90 points since week 1. The really weird thing is that I thought this was the best team top to bottom I’d ever drafted (considering the size of the league).

It’s about to get worse, too, with DeMarco Murray injured.

I was looking at Overly Sentimental’s matchup and thought “He must’ve forgot to set his roster” because almost everyone was on bye… so I look at his bench, and most of them are on bye too. Guess he drafted to deliberately throw a week. Not looking like a bad strategy now, he definitely has a game to give up.

Can I not make roster moves the AM of the game? Nothing critical, but there was a pickup I wanted to make.

It supposed to put everyone on waivers at 1pm eastern - maybe it does it 5 minutes earlier, I don’t know, but you should be able to pick up free agents until then.

I had no problems this morning.

I picked up Vince Young this morning as soon as I got a Cardinals news alert that they’re going to work him out, no problems here.

Every divional leader lost last week. Crazy

After this week, 4 people in our division will be 5-5, and if Frosted Glass had won, all 5 of us would be. That’s parity

This is not the league to stream defenses in. My options are Indy vs NE, Jacksonville vs Houston, and Oakland vs NO. I guess my best bet is to leave it empty.

In this league, you never have to feel bad about leaving a DEF or K blank. You are usually much better off given the terrible options available.

Last week, I was all set to blame my loss on not being able to do my last minute tweaks (i.e. pull obvious BYE week players) but it really would not have mattered. The only player that could have helped me was a QB swap and I had zero intentions of starting Fitzpatrick over Smith. Still, I expect there will be fewer complaints about the division breakdown next year if it all stays this close.

Well you should always start a kicker - negative points from kickers are extremely rare. But the way we do defensive scoring, it’s often best to just leave it empty, true.

I think I’ve gotten negative points from at least one player in every game this season.

Well, it’s taken me all season, but I’ve finally got a decent team. I’m not sure how the standings will play out tomorrow, but if I can win the next two I think I can make the playoffs.

Two weeks left in the regular season. It’s going to be quite a tight playoff race. Only one player, Overly Sentimental, has practically clinched a playoff slot (though not technically). Everything else is up for grabs. We have one player at 8-3, 4 at 7-4, and 7 and 6-5. The point tiebreaker races are close and in play too.

I’m going to have a hard time winning my division since Scissor Me Timbers has the tiebreaker and I don’t have any division games left to make it up. But I do play the 13th and 15th seeded players to finish out the season - so if I win out, very likely I’ll get a playoff spot.

I scored over 100 points with four players registering a zero (including all three running backs). That’s got to be some kind of record.
