Obama
Mean people suck!
Nice people swallow!
Creative people gargle!
Who do I personally think would be best for the country or who do I hope wins the primary?
I preferred Edwards, and when he dropped out I supported Clinton, but that was when it looked like the GOP wouldn’t nominate anyone who had a chance in the general election. With McCain as their front-runner, we need Obama.
Clinton!
Obama.
It’s time for the right kind of change.
Oh, and as for the OP: OBAMA
Life long Republican checking in. For the first time in my life I will vote Democrat if it is Obama. If it is Clinton I will vote for Mcain.
The Republicans need to take a break from power for awhile.
It’s interesting Dopers with decidedly female usernames are still looking to vote Obama. Anyway, I’m supporting Clinton (and male if that’s relevant). I think Obama is too inexperienced and going for president so early in one’s career feels a tad narcissistic. Plus his take on (nuclear) Pakistan is simply frightening. When called on it, he went straight for the ad hominem against Chris Dodd. Clinton strikes me as a very intelligent and capable person, if lacking in charm. GW Bush was nothing but charisma and look where he got us.
Another minor factor is some of the negative campaigning from Obama supporters I’ve run into, which is getting juvenile.
I registered as a Democrat this year just so I can caucus for Obama (and I have been an Independent since McGovern days). So yeah, white baby-boomer female for Obama. If Hillary gets the nomination I will vote for her as I believe she will do a decent job, but I would much rather not.
Out of curiosity, what is it about Obama that you like? I’ve heard some people say that they were Republicans, but after hearing him speak, they gave him money. I don’t want to hear “charisma” as an answer, but if that really is the answer, I suppose I’ll take what I can get.
Obama. Yes, we can!
I’m in the same boat as the person you asked, and I’ll give you my take: Obama gets my vote because he a) is a Democrat and I’m tired of Republicans, and b) He’s not Clinton. Be honest with yourself: do you really think that the Republicans will work with her? I say there’s not a chance in hell. In addition, this is not supposed to be an Empire. It’s time for a new name and new blood.
Last, I despise the woman and wouldn’t let her lick the sweat off the soles of my feet if she were dying of thirst. But that’s just one man’s opinion.
I don’t feel that a president has to be the smartest kid in the classroom. He/she does have to be a good leader and surround himself with intelligent people.
Reagan was no mental giant but no one can deny that he is what we needed after Carter.
Same here.
Just out of curiosity (and I’m not being snarky here, I’m genuinely curious), did you feel that way about GW? Because I’m hearing this a lot lately, and I’m hearing it from people who voted for him. Twice.
I prefer Obama, but I won’t have to hold my nose to vote for Hillary. I really dojn’t get the vast majority of the vitriol aimed at her. I don’t love her, but she never kicked my puppy or anything.
Obama. Not willing to vote for Clinton.
DianaG I can’t explain exactly why I hate Hillary, I know part of it is still being married to someone who had a blow job by a intern who wasn’t even good looking…come on.
They don’t live together, they rarely show up together. Can we say pure politics?
So? I didn’t care about the state of their marriage when he was President, and I won’t care if she’s President. That’s between them.
I’m pretty sure that when anyone stands by and gazes adoringly at their politician spouse, it’s pure politics.
Clinton. I think she’ll be a very effective executive. Competent in spades.
But I’m impressed with how well Obama is doing. The better he does against Clinton, the less worried I am that the Republican (most assuredly John McCain at this point) would eat him for lunch. If he wins the primary I’m totally behind him.
But she’s my candidate of choice.
I dunno. Cute face(ial). I would have enjoyed the blowjob.
