SDMB Dems, whom do you prefer -- Clinton or Obama?

I don’t really think there’s much impetus right now to tackle Roe v. Wade. It’s been in effect for so long now that most people either accept it as unavoidable or, having grown up with it, view it as the normal state of affairs.

And on preview, thanks for the link to the Pit thread. I’ll check it out.

And on that note, I’m reminding everyone that this is a poll for SDMB Dems. Take the political debates and pittings to their proper forums, please.

Obama is a breath of fresh air, Hillary is the other half of a previous “first couple”.

Before McCain blew bush as a matter of party solidarity, I respected him greatly. I still think he’s a straight shooter, and a respectable man.

I am by no means a sexist or misogynist, but if it were Obama v McCain, I’m all for Obama, it it were Clinton v McCain, I might be torn.

My allegiances are based more on my opinion about leadership, and respect on a global level.

Maybe I’m in the severe minority with this standpoint, but there it is.

I have little doubt that Bush’s appointments to the SC, Roberts and Alito would be open to overturning R v. W. They have been as solidly to the right as the evangelicals could hope for. They sure as hell aren’t going to revisit the issue in a presidential election year though. With Stevens hanging on until the next pres. the issue becomes a pressing one. A McCain pick could well but the conservatives over the top, if they are not there already. Lately, everything seems to rest on Kennedy’s shoulders in the SC.
