I have little doubt that Bush’s appointments to the SC, Roberts and Alito would be open to overturning R v. W. They have been as solidly to the right as the evangelicals could hope for. They sure as hell aren’t going to revisit the issue in a presidential election year though. With Stevens hanging on until the next pres. the issue becomes a pressing one. A McCain pick could well but the conservatives over the top, if they are not there already. Lately, everything seems to rest on Kennedy’s shoulders in the SC.
