Okay, grimpixie, I’ve extracted my pound of flesh; unless you retreat to Finland, I almost certainly (which means the strategic situation will have undergone a wild swing for me to consider doing so) won’t be helping either of the southern powers into Moscow. Finland means no deal however.
I will say that not having an ally to help against anyone makes deciding my moves easier, but is very disheartening.
Looks like my hopes of screwing up England, at least a little, have failed.

And Germany, if everyone is warning you against English treachery, maybe there is some validity to it?
Without any armies a stab would be pretty quick to stall. My shortage of fleets likely comforts him similarly. Considering how many of the other leaders have been nearly silent in between turns I’m not seeing the motivation on either party.
I must humbly apologise to Italy for not including their fleets on the map, they will appear after the retreats have been organised. :smack:

Omni, likely change of plans, disregard what I said yesterday.
First of all, grimpixie, not only won’t I support your southern enemies into Moscow, I may very well decide to support YOU in place there against them. A Turkish army in your capital does me (and my ally) absolutely no good. So your decision-retreat there and all is good; retreat to Finland and all bets are off.
Now, Omni: I may need to risk letting him have Liverpool, and thus you may need to let me keep Holland for one more year. If I play it “safe”, and cover Liverpool myself this turn, I place my fleet in Portugal in potential danger, as he could move the fleet to MAO, army to Spain, dislodge AND kill it next spring, and it will take me more than a year to get my other fleets back in position. And all the while the Turk’s fleets will be moving westward and HE may end up occupying Iberia while I dick around. The risk is France building a fleet in Brest if you don’t get Paris next year (from what I can see the latter is not a sure thing at all).
While if I do move Wales-Irish Sea, I’ll have THREE fleets in his back yard (including North Sea-Channel) next year, and an excellent chance at either Spain or Brest. I’ll thus need Holland to ensure a fleet build in Edinburgh, which will allow me to eventually kick him out of Liverpool; his fleet up there will be isolated and impotent. You may not be able to spare a unit to occupy Holland anyway this year. All depends of course on what Russia does with his retreat (as I need that fleet in Barent’s to get to NWG a.s.a.p. Let me know what you think.

Omni: Long story short if you agree that a 5 center France this year/4 (or even 3) center France next year is better than the reverse, are you agreed with my rationale? [I realize you’ve likely been at work all day]
That should be fine. However in the future, as my growth has been very stagnant, I might require a SC from you to even things out if your conquest of Iberia moves very quickly.
My moves are pretty straight forward this turn. I think it’s best that you keep your own council and do what you think it best. Lets not give France too much insight into our thoughts. Of course the goal is to get you to the Med with some strength, and to diminish France. I think the former is more important as killing France will be something that happens in due course, but if Turkey gets to WME before you we’re in a pickle.
Well, depending on how next year goes I’ll happily allow you Holland in the near future.
