Those are some wacky numbers so far. Players with actual ranked 11 (Frosted Lightning), 12 (Varlos), and me 13 (Me) due to our 1-2 record have a higher score than the top 4 actual ranked players with one exception (2 above 13).
I just wanted to point out that our division (Jules JAMmed out of playoffs) is kicking ass. Only one loss outside of the division so far. We’re all very disappointed in SenorBeef.
Jules JAMmed out of playoffs: 4-1 (0.800)
Division 3: 5-4 (0.556)
Too many Giants fans: 2-3 (0.400)
Division 2: 3-6 (0.333)
Autodraft destroyed my already slim chances, so because of my need for a WR and my lack of anything to offer, I’m hoping Henry gets some looks. If Thigpen hadn’t been shipped to MIA and be likely to start, no way I make this trade.
The actual league ranking looks at record first, and then score second.
For instance, you have 4 players.
Player A has a 3-1 record and 500 points
Player B has a 2-2 record and 400 points
Player C has a 2-2 record and 300 points
Player D has a 1-3 record and 350 points
The actual rankings in this league are are as they appear, with A being first and D being last. Even though D has scored 350 points, which is more than C, because of the way the head to head matchups worked out, he lost 3 games, and therefore is ranked 4th.
SInce B and C are tied at 2-2, then their total points scored becomes the tiebreaker, hence why B is ranked ahead of C.
I posted our scores in order of points scored just because it’s an interesting way to look at things… it would be how we were ranked if we were in a pure points league. It’s not actually meaningful - the ranking numbers are the official ranking - but it’s interesting to see what the numbers are.
What it means is that if someone is high on that table, but with a low number, then the scheduling has been unfavorable to them - they’ve scored a lot of points, but won few games. And vice versa.
Do you know why I (Donte’s Torino) is ranked below Unrelated Siblings, despite having the same record and more points? The only thing I can come up with is Unrelated Sibling has a better divisional record. However, I am ranked above We Do HGH, who has the same record, and has a better divisional record as well.
I can’t make sense of that one either. I can only guess it takes a certain criteria to determine who is the division winner (or in this case leading the division), and then applies a different formula to ranking non-division winners. It’s convoluted, but I can’t figure out anything else.
IE maybe the logic is "ok, we need a division winner. There are 3 people with 2-1. Okay, there are 2 people with 1-0 division records. Ok, Unrelated Siblings one has the most points. Okay, now let’s rank everyone else. Ok, Donte’s Torino and We Do HGH both have a 2-1 record, but Donte’s has more points, so he gets ranked 2nd).
So the division winner determination would use divisional record, while it wouldn’t for non-division-winner ranking. But then again… they could do that a lot more clearly by having the ranking numbers determined by one method, and then just ranking the divisions in a way that can differ from that. Convoluted either way.

I have a tendency to be a stastical anomoly. Lots of things just happen like that.
If the divisional standings are a factor, does that mean we need to have some kind of half-assed BCS ranking system in place?
My understanding is that the division winners go to the playoffs, which is 4 of 8 seeds. And then the other 4 seeds go to the highest ranking teams who aren’t division winners (wildcards), similar to the NFL playoff system.
Gusterrhoids gives up Terrel Owens and Master Baiters gives up Shaun Hill.
The trade looks imbalanced at first glance, but in our league QBs are rare and precious commodities and Gusterrhoids doesn’t have one starting this week so it makes sense.
I assume you guys intend for this trade to go through before gameday tomorrow, right?
I have it set up so that the commisioner approves trades, rather than a 2 day waiting period that can be vetoed by majority vote. So I can push it through quickly. I try to leave a period open where people can voice their objections if they feel the trade is unbalanced or league damaging somehow, but if it seems fine and it’s time sensitive I can go ahead and approve it now.
Does Justin Bailey also want it to go through now? I don’t want to catch anyone by surprise.
LOL, I knew I had one bad week going into the season with all the Cardinals I took. Still, having injured players on top of it didn’t help at all. Still, even if I would have played my optimal lineup, I still would have lost this week.
