Hey, does anyone want my team? I know some people were shut out of participating here. If I keep this team, I’m going to have 4 teams after never having had more than two. I’d rather give one to someone who will give it their full attention than have a team I’m not watching carefully.

Sorry for being absent. As ellis said, thats’s me. Eagles fan, from South Jersey, currently live in Orlando, moving to the DC area during the season.
I have class on weeknights also, which I can’t skip since I am teaching them. But I have no problem doing autoranking and letting Yahoo figure it out and showing up when I can.
Also, I love sushi and long walks on the beach.
I don’t get off work until 9:30 Eastern Time on Tuesdays. However, if work is slow, I should be able to slip out an hour or so early on the 8th.
You can prerank your first 20 players or so and that should last through until you can get on.
It’s Not Rocket Surgery!: since our alternate has since changed his mind, if no one else steps up to take the slot would you mind playing the league out? If you don’t want to, then I can try to get a mod to temporarily rename the thread to reflect the recruiting status - otherwise I doubt new people are entering a thread that says “(league full)”
Yeah, I can still play. If anyone shows interest later, I can share management - or if one of my other leagues fall through I can concentrate on this one some more.
I’m going to reiterate my desire to switch this league to the scoring system we devised for the All-Pro league detailed here. Since some people objected to the kicker scoring but no one seemed to object to anything else, I was going to adopt all the rules except those relating to kickers. Anyone object?
It’s not a radical change to the default scoring system that you’d have to plan an entirely different type of draft for - just tweaks that we think improve it.
I’m happy with whatever you decide, SenorBeef, but i do quite like that system. I like the way it penalizes bad plays and bad kicks; some scoring systems just seem to keep adding up the good plays while ignoring the bad ones.
I was kinda hoping to keep the draft on the 26th as originally set. Also prefer default scoring.
It’s my fault that cut dates didn’t occur to me while I was proposing a draft date. But we’re going to be drafting 300 players. Towards the end, the talent is going to end up being stretched very thin. NFL rosters will be cut down from 75 or 80 to 53 players on Sep 5, which means that if we held our draft before that date then a significant minority of players drafted in our league won’t even make the starting day opening rosters, which would be problematic.
I’m sorry I ended up switching draft dates, but ultimately I think this date is much more practical.
You’re right. Not much point in drafting a bunch of guys that won’t make final rosters.
The timing is tricky - in the space between the final cuts, and the first day of the season, we have 3 leagues drafting and 2 holiday weekend days. There’s almost no flexibility in our draft time. I hope everyone can make it. If you for sure can’t, please customize your pre-ranked draft list extensively. If you can’t manage that, please notify me - I can have a mod change the title of this thread as to hopefully interest a few recruits.
Who all were those 5 Giants fans we have? I’m going to do some arbitrarily tinkering with the divisions and having a division of only giants fans is vaguely amusing.
I’ll also probably make a “SenorBeef keeps Jules Asner out of the playoffs” division and maybe some other grouping based on past league participation.
They’re just random now, so my arbitrary tinkering can’t really hurt anything.
