SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year 12

I wouldn’t hate a Tuesday game if they let us watch it.

As an aside, fuck Trysten Hill for deliberately trying to injure Chris Carson. Then, later the same fucking drive, he helmet to helmets (yes, it’s a verb now) Russell Wilson. Yet another reason to hate the Cowboys.

Big game this week as I have to play 2-1 Jules Andre. Should be interesting.

I know coaches need to stick by their guys, but I found McCarthy’s comments on that to be especially grotesque.

It’s gonna be hard to make the MNF a doubleheader for tv with the teams in the same time zone unless they start much earlier.

I think that weird Tuesday night game with the Vikings got on TV, but I may have been a bar with the NFL package and not shown nationally

You mean like how the Cardinals couldn’t possibly give up on Josh Rosen one year after drafting him 10th overall?

Hill was a knucklehead in college, but he was also a superb player.

I’m betting the TV contracts don’t even allow it, but we’ll see if an exception can be made. Pretty sure I didn’t get to watch the cave-in game on regular cable in Chicago.

I’m not sure if we need to do anything special for consideration of delayed/postponed/cancelled games. The rest of the fantasy community (and yahoo) is going to have to come up with some rules to handle how it’s going to work and I figure we’ll just go along with whatever that is and operate the league from within whatever framework yahoo gives us.

Yeah but that’s the Cardinals. As shitty as the Giants have been for a decade, they have at least demonstrated an organizational ability to win championships. That’s why I think they can’t jump the gun on their next major change.

I suspect ownership is quite embarrassed by the whole McAdoo / Shurmur debacle of the past 4 years and are looking to get back to stable leadership and consistency. I’m not sure Gettleman and Judge is the right pair to stick with forever, but man I hope so. A third 2-year transition in a row would be a really bad look for a franchise that only had 12 different head coaches from 1931 through 2015. Now starting their third head coach since 2015 is a massive departure and frankly bush league.

So in that sense maybe you’re right. Maybe they have fully embraced the incompetent organization paradigm and have joined the likes of the Jets, Browns and Lions. I sincerely hope not, but who knows.

Well, the Titans/Steelers game has been postponed. It’s early enough in the season that they can probably play around with bye weeks. But, it’s obviously a massive blow to me this week.

Yeah, ouch, that’s rough. I had to replace Jonnu but Hockenson is champing at the bit so that’s all good.

Go Jets! They look like such world-beaters I’m gonna start three: Perine (over Hyde and Akers), Crowder (over Landry) and Jets DEF (projected 11.5, vs 1.5 for Browns and Giants. Not loving the Steelers reschedule.)

Yeesh.

7 points under projection but at least Crowder had 100 yards and a bunch of catches. Even with a pick six plus two more picks, the Jets DEF let up over 35 so they only scored 4. Ouch. Perine was hopeless with 5 carries for 15 yards, ugh.

Hey all, checking in here infrequently as I will.
I was just thinking that this weeks’ Steelers/Titans bout looks to be rescheduled without significant disruption to our fantasy game; but I can also foresee as we get later into the season and things aren’t able to be so easily readjusted, some kind of corner case scenarios arising that really put us in an unprecedented position as comes to FANTASY managers, really hinky potential actually. So I think we should probably agree now to just take a majority-rules vote here on the board to adjudicate these, or else some better suggestion.

This feels like last year for me, when I started out a strong 1-0, and then dropped like 7 out of 8 to completely tank my interest level. Got to win this week, really hoping that picking up Mason Crosby in week 3 is what turns this year for me.

Yep, fingers crossed. I’ll be surprised if any issues arise that turn antagonistic; I’m in the mindset of bending over backward to just try and make it work, so I’ll likely be rubber stamping anything and everything.

In a worst case scenario I could load up all the stats into my program and then we can do whatever we want with the scores, switching rescheduled games back to their original week, whatever. (My program, of course, does not output to discourse and I haven’t been motivated to rewrite the output routine.)

Cam Newton just tested positive, Patriots on standby right now. Their flight to KC has been postponed

Strong chance that KC v NE isn’t played tomorrow, could be pushed to Monday or Tuesday to allow for more tests

The KC vs. NE game is the first real crisis, because unlike the titans game, we don’t know if it will be played this week or not. And it is Saturday. So, will this game count as week 4 no matter when it is played? Or is it going to be a 1-day-notice bye week? Unlike a normal bye, or even the titans fiasco, there’s no way for us to know if we need to sub these players out. If they decide to postpone the game to a future week, and that decision comes on Sunday night, we’re screwed.

I think we need to agree that if a Monday game is postponed/canceled on Sunday night, then the highest-scoring bench player will be subbed in.

I’m thinking we should set our rosters as if the NE/KC game is not being played this week. But we can post in this thread, the players we’d substitute in if the game is played.

So, for me, I’d put Joe Burrow in as my starting QB, but post here that I would start Mahomes if the game is played. Then, the commish can adjust rosters after the fact if the game is played this week.

It makes more work for the Commish, but it removes the problem so starting someone who doesnt actually play at the last minute.

Not a fan of “highest scoring player” just being subbed in rather than having the owner make a actual roster decision. Although it does also take into account if, for example, a game gets cancelled last minute.
