Yeah, I remember how bad the last couple of years of Jerry Rice were. Μaybe a phone call from Kurt Warner to Larry might help, he’s pretty much at the point I’d make him inactive on game days now given the Cards receiving options
That was a very lucky week for the Good Guys. Mahomes is still to go, which could result in anywhere from 20-219 points. But it is unlikely he gets 40 points without Tyreek Hill getting a point. Stranger Things, etc.
I do have a pretty big bye week problem looming though. Willing to move a flex WR like Anthony Miller, Corey Davis, or Preston Williams for a low end RB that sees the field.
Trade to announce:
HungryHungryHaruspex gets:
RB Nyheim Hines
The Great Old Ones gets:
WR Anthony Miller
I think Gaffer wins this trade without much doubt, but I needed to overpay to get a runner I can trust to see the field during my bye weeks. Dion Lewis can play a little, but he’s not seeing consistent 3rd down work like I was hoping. I don’t need much from him, but he can’t guarantee even that. Hines isn’t much better, but if I can pencil him in for 6 points or so, I have a chance to compete and maybe steal a win during the byes.
Miller is someone who is very underrated in fantasy. He can be an upside flex with competent QB play. He creates consistent separation, but Trubisky had a hard time targeting him. It’s a well-kept secret, but Foles is almost laser focused on his slot receivers going back to the Chip Kelly days, so that is a big upgrade for Miller. By season’s end, this trade will look bad for me. Next season, maybe even worse. But, that’s the game. Good on Gaffer for taking advantage.
I’d say, as the 51st rated WR this year (and 58th last year)coming off a 1.6 game, he’s pretty well rated. Miller is almost entirely touchdown dependent and I would never feel confident starting him. Plus, he’s been all but replaced as the #3 target on the Bears by Darnell Mooney.
It’s not like Nyheim Hynes is any great shakes, but at least he’s startable (now that Marlon Mack is injured) some desperate bye weeks. Miller could be easily replaced. Heck, there are two guys on waivers with more points than him.
What’s the single game scoring record in the league? I’m sitting at 192 currently.
My daughter had a soccer tournament all weekend so I didn’t watch or pay attention to any football or the scores and didn’t see until this morning. I’m a lot better at this when I don’t actively participate.
Miller is a bit of a bum. He’s developed a serious tendency for the drops and he’s no longer the Bears WR2 as that role has been assumed by the rookie Mooney. He mostly shares time with Ginn & Wims as the slot in 3 WR sets. The attitude doesn’t seem great either, so he gets yanked pretty quick each time he drops another pass. For 2020, Hines is a MASSIVE upgrade from Miller with the injury to Mack and the general scarcity of RBs. Long term, neither guy has much upside. Miller seems unlikely to ever grow into a consistent fantasy WR2 and he’s not a high ceiling guy like Fuller either.
The current record is 202.60 from Hamlet back in 2009. Your game would be only the second time anyone has ever hit 200. Looks like you just took the overall record with a catch this moment.

Thanks for digging up the data.
Tonyan might be my best waiver wire pickup ever with this week’s performance.
That’s why the sting of losing this week with two of my stud RBs on the bench doesn’t hurt. No one was gonna beat a 200 point team regardless. Damn nice win.
Roster edits are done for the conditionals posted in this thread. Here’s the summary:
Hamlet:
Swapped out Joe Burrow for Patrick Mahomes
Dale:
James White was in the starting roster, no changes.
Overly:
Swapped out Christian Kirk for Sammy Watkins
Ellis:
Swapped out T.J. Hockenson for Travis Kelce
Swapped out Dan Bailey for Harrison Butker
Jules:
Tyreek Hill and Alvin Kamara were in the starting roster, no changes.
Justin:
Swapped out Larry Fitzgerald for Julian Edelman
Justin’s change gave him just enough to steal a win for the week. Nicely done.
Thanks for taking care of the rosters, much appreciated.
Turned out not to matter for me in multiple ways: Both replacement starters had scored within 1-2 points of the original (and now actual) starters: 16.90 total dropped down to 16.50 total for me, so essentially no change. And with McCaffrey out and the Steelers on a bye I never really had a chance anyway, unsurprisingly losing to Petey by 25+. (CMC + upgrade to Steelers DEF is usually good for 30 points between them.)
Even with the monster offensive output of the Browns, Mayfield’s cut of that was only a paltry 15.85. He just can’t score points in our league because he can’t throw for yards: 165 yards in that 49-38 win. Come on, man, seriously? WTF Baker? Prescott isn’t a world-beater and he scored 40.80 on the other side of that shootout, highest of the week. Mayfield was 22nd. Gah!
And how about my defenses? Both the Jets and the Browns scored defensive touchdowns (pick 6s!) yet neither hit double digits because both let up the maximum 35+ points. Doh! Turned out to be the hapless Giants with my highest score DEF this week at 8.
My trade of Miller for Hines is supposed to process today (Thursday), but just in case, I pushed it through so Gaffer has extra notice about it and has a choice to start Miller if he chooses.
Looks like another week of conditional starts. New New England/Denver to Monday night and probably Buffalo/Tennessee to Tuesday night
I had an awkward and annoying situation.
I want Josh Allen at QB, but his game might get cancelled after getting tentatively moved to Tuesday. Okay, so make him a conditional start and Start Aaron Rodgers. Can’t, he’s on bye. Okay, no big deal, start Tannehill. Woops, he’s the one facing against Allen, in the same game that might be cancelled.
So even though I have 2 QBs I want to start this week, their game might cancel both of them. I had to clear a roster spot and start Ryan Fitzpatrick just to be safe from taking a 0.
So, anyway, obviously, if the Buffalo-Tennesse game happens, I want Josh Allen as my starter.
I noped out of the whole conditional mess this week, starting Landry over Jonnu. Essentially a wash and no headache to deal with.
Idle question:
What happens when a player I have slotted on IR (to make room for temp players) comes off IR? Do they just stay on IR until I manually move them out? Or does yahoo kick them off IR and just let me have too many players until the next time I try to set my lineup, at which point it makes me drop someone?
I assume it won’t randomly drop a player to make room, so it’s more of just an idle thought.
Also, anyone know what day of the week players come off IR? Tuesdays?
I think yahoo demands you take the player off IR before making any other roster changes once they’re off.
Conditional Roster Moves, Week 5
If BUF-TEN is canceled, replace AJ Brown with Austin Hooper
If NE-DEN is canceled, replace Julian Edelman with Austin Hooper
If BOTH GAMES are canceled, replace Brown and Edelman with Austin Hooper and Chase Claypool
If Buf/Ten not played this week, replace Devin Singletary with Michael Gallup.
For Buffalo v Tennessee
Derrick Henry to be replaced by Josh Kelly
I went ahead and benched John Brown
Are you KIDDING me? Hooper is doing better than expected, but are you KIDDING me?
