Yeah, I could have sworn I got screwed a couple of seasons with the 8th seed and than got the 8th pick, but it was a lot bourbon ago, so who knows.
I was just thinking about this last night and logged on to propose it. So count me as a YES as well.
If fantasy could continue through the playoffs I’d still be killing it with Josh Allen and Deebo Samuel.
Guess I need to finally draft a starting QB.
I was actually hoping Brady would just keep hanging on to play at a ridiculous age that no one would ever beat just because it’s interesting to see such unique feats.
I think that probably leaves us with only Aaron Rodgers from our original draft, but I didn’t double check. Having a league run for 13+ years is actually quite a feat and we should be proud of it - I suspect we’re probably one of the oldest continuously running dynasty leagues in the world.
Rodgers might theoretically retire this year too if his threats are to be believed.
Future Hall of Famer Joe Burrow may be available.
So far I think my team is looking stronger for next year. Biggest change is that I get Dobbins back, and I think he could have a top 15 season. Allen Robinson got out of the black hole that was Chicago and LA Rams is probably a good landing spot, especially if they don’t re-sign OBJ. Kupp will take the heavy coverage and their offense is prolific enough to support 2 WRs.
Hard to say if OBJ will be useful. He looked not washed up for a few weeks this year, but it’d be good I think if he signs somewhere else as far as my fantasy prospects go. Still, he should be better than last year where he was not very useful.
Chark went to Detroit, but I think he’s probably not going to be anything great, but he’ll certainly be better than the nothing I got out of him this year.
Kyle Pitts will probably be significant improved as tight ends take time to develop and they’re going to design their offense around him.
Rashod Bateman is likely to improve to a top 30ish WR this year.
Deebo Samuel will likely not be able to repeat his historic season, but barring injury he should finish top 10 again.
Lockett, Chubb, and Montgomery will be on the downslope of their careers. Lockett may have a huge dropoff without Wilson, but I don’t think Chubb or Montgomery will fall off the face of the Earth very fast.
So the only steep decline will probably be Lockett and I’m improving in a lot of areas. Also, if you didn’t know, I’m the current champ.
Baltimore just traded Hollywood Brown to the Cardinals.
Rashod Bateman stocks to the mooooooooon
I just realized how dire my quarterback situation is. There are no rookies worth drafting as a starter this year.
Both Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold are pretty much done. I have Daniel Jones and nobody else. Lord help me.
Completely off topic, but does anyone know if yahoo fantasy leagues will work if I have a non yahoo email? I am done with yahoo.
You need a Yahoo account but you can change your Fantasy accounts’ email for notifications to anything. I route everything to Outlook.
I wouldn’t bet against Kenny Pickett, and I may take a flier on Desmond Ridder. I saw enough of the latter to think he has NFL tools, especially in this new era where every QB runs.
My final roster last year and way-too-early cuts:
QB - Justin Herbert, Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, Kyle Trask
RB - Najee Harris, Leonard Fournette, Kareem Hunt, Zack Moss, Duke Johnson, Joshua Kelley, Rex Burkhead, Justin Jackson
WR - Stefon Diggs, Chris Godwin, Cordarrelle Patterson, Rondale Moore, Mecole Hardman, Jalen Guyton
TE - Tyler Higbee, Noah Fant, David Njoku, Evan Engram, Donald Parham, Maxx Williams
K - Matt Prater
DEF - LA Rams, Indianapolis
I had six guys on IR, so that should leave me with 5 picks. I may keep Hardman, Guyton, one of the Charger RBs or one of the TEs who are listed as cuts, depending on how the rest of the offseason goes.
My core is phenomenal - top-3 at QB, WR, RB and defense in terms of starters - but my depth is weak. I’ll need a good draft this year.
Jarvis Landry has gone from the Browns to the Saints. Doh! Why couldn’t he go somewhere with a quarterback like the Packers?
He’s actually good, but has spent his entire career with shit quarterbacks first in Miami, then Cleveland, and now New Orleans. I’ve had him forever; I might have even drafted him as a rookie. Super frustrating.
Jarvis Landry’s thing is being a safety blanket for bad quarterbacks. I suspect he would have been far less successful during his career if he’d been in Green Bay all this time.
Do we have a new season thread?
Not yet. @Jules_Andre can create a new one if he’d like (his OPs are well-organized) but if he doesn’t want to I’ll get around to it in the next couple of weeks.
Many seasons we didn’t even start the thread until August.
I’m kinda hoping to delay the new thread a little longer, mostly because I’ve had about the worst offseason any dynasty roster could pretty much ever experience. I’d like to see just how bad it can get so I have more to recap in the new thread. And no one has yet suffered the inevitable preseason ACL injury! I can’t wait to see how much worse it gets
