Fastest draft ever? This is indeed looking like a Tuesday morning finish.
It’s funny that you apparently know my pattern well enough to guess my picks but I’ve been just kind of fumbling my way through fantasy football the last few years and don’t even know my own style anymore. What about Thornton makes him a pick you were sure I’d take?
Whoa, whoa, whoa. A magician never reveals their secrets. I try to keep a record of how everyone drafts so I can have an educated guess on who they may take, just in case I need to jump ahead of someone. When I don’t trade up, I’m usually wrong. It’s a great system
Wow. Now I kinda want to know if I’m drafting to pattern or not…
Damn, was sure Otten would still be there. Okay, time to reassess. Pick coming soon.
Yeah, it looks like the pattern I noticed is that you take whoever is the worst football player at each draft spot. It’s an interesting strategy, for sure
Took to the 5th round for a selection of a guy I had no idea even existed.
Dude…
Sorry guys. I was waiting for my pick to come up for a while, and it didn’t, and then I spent the whole weekend sleeping off my vacation. I’m totally okay with Jaylen.
Yay! Welcome back.
We’ve never had a repeat champion in this league, although @VarlosZ had an impressive run with winning every other year for a 3 championship run. Yes, I tagged him. Maybe he just forgot to show up for the last 5 years and that will remind him.
I probably won’t, but I think I’ve got a reasonable shot at it. My team is pretty much full strength going into the season. I get Dobbins back which at worst I think is a RB3. I know TEs usually are late to break out, but I think Pitts will be such a focus of the offense that he’ll be force fed production this year even if he’s not at his full developed state. Chubbs/Montgomery will be a reliable 1-2 punch. Not league leading, but no reason they can’t replicate their production from last year. Chubb perhaps even up a bit with the Browns relying even more on him.
I will lose a lot from Tyler Lockett, who was actually the WR11 on the year, which will hurt. But I think Bateman is going to be the man in Baltimore and put up WR2 numbers, and OBJ may actually come back to fantasy relevance on a good passing team, especially with Kup taking the heat off of him.
Allen Robinson went to LAR, which is a much better place than Chicago and I think he’ll recover some of his mojo, but AR15 and OBJ being on the same team limits their upside. Still, it’s a passing offense that can support 3 WRs.
I think Chark may have been a flash in the pan, but I get a bit of a lottery ticket that he wasn’t. Between Rhamondre Stevenson and Pierre Strong I have a chance at someone running away with the NE job (or a chance they both become so unpredictable I hate starting either).
Deebo probably can’t replicate his amazing season last year but if he stays healthy he’ll be a WR1, the whole offense runs through him. No reason besides injury that Josh Allen can’t be QB1 again.
Spiller is a good handcuff lottery ticket - he probably won’t be a regular starter but if Ekeler gets hurt he could be a league winner.
Overall, my team has got significantly stronger and I won the championship last year, so why not again.
Why not indeed. I doubt Deebo can do what he did last year again, but adding Dobbins could really help. And I do expect Pitts to be a wrecking ball this year. He’s not really a TE, so I expect another big step up, especially in the TD department this year.
The biggest thing, as always, is health. I’m not a fan of your depth, so if something happens to Allen, Deebo, or Chubb, I’d be seriously worried for your team. You have a lot of timeshares (Rhamondre, Spiller, Dobbins, Williams), which is both a problem and the reality of the modern NFL. Personally, I expect Montgomery’s value to fall a bit thanks to Herbert looking much more explosive. And unless Hunt goes away, Chubb’s value will be capped.
Still, you, and almost every team, has a shot this year. I just don’t fear your team this year like I did going into the playoffs last year.
And, can we get these picks going?
Yeah, seconded. Looks like dale’s been on the clock for 20 hours now.
Can we call a 24 hour shot clock violation? (in 3 hours)
Yeah. I let it go because we’re almost at the end of the draft and not pressed for time, but we can go ahead anyway. Let’s give it 1 hour - at 4:30 eastern @Really_Not_All_That_Bright can make his 5.10 pick.
Didn’t even know I was on the clock again already, I get off work soon, so the pick will be around 4 central, it’ll be some sort of flyer so I won’t scream if you wanna skip me
I’ll take the Houston D/ST with 5.06
