Here’s a guy I’ve had my eye on for a couple of years. Preseason hero two years in a row, and I think there could be something there. Which is good, because as usual I’ve overestimated the amount of talent remaining in the fifth round.

I just noticed that a bunch of guys I didn’t keep are still listed on my roster (such as Carson Wentz and Donald Parham).
Shit. I went off of this post here that said it was your final cuts, and Wentz was listed as not cut. Parham was cut, but I don’t have him on your roster on the draft results page. Your “My Team” roster isn’t updated because the draft hasn’t finished
With the last pick of the dynasty draft, I’ll take:
7.01 John Metchie, WR, Texans.
I’m rooting for him for so much more than fantasy value. Happy to have him on my team, even if he never plays a game.

Good Luck Everyone.
Son of a bitch! I had his name typed out and ready to go with my last pick, but I figured he would go undrafted and I could grab him on waiver this week. Well played, jerk. Excellent pick.
The draft is now finished up! I’ll be editing the schedule according to our templates from previous seasons. Once that is done, I will finalize the draft through Yahoo! You would then be able to review your actual roster and week one matchup. Should be ready within a few hours at most
Everything is finished. The schedule was triple checked according to our templates here. Each year’s template is a separate sheet at the bottom. As a reminder, the schedule template was set a few years back, and the weeks are filled in based on the previous year’s finish. To ensure variety, the non-division games are shuffled down a week every year, and the final 3 weeks are always divisional games. The final week is always the top 2 finishers from each division from the last year against each other. Everyone is free to double check the schedule against the template to make sure it is accurate. Eventually I’ll use actual team names instead of the placeholder variables to make it easier to fill out, but that is a project for another time.
Is there a way to tag a post as super fucking critical so don’t ignore it? This post is that.
SET YOUR LINEUPS. The season starts in 2 days and Yahoo defaults everyone to empty rosters. Everyone needs to remember to set their lineup before Thursday if they have someone in that game
Something that probably should have been brought before now is that the NFL changed the bye weeks this year to end in Week 14, which is the final week of regular season. Do we see this as problematic?
That’s how the schedule was set last year and I think it worked OK for us.
Thanks for setting everything up Jules. I appear to have an abundance of startable WRs, so send me an offer if you’re looking for a receiver and want to trade a RB.
I worded this weird, but it’s meant for everyone, not just Jules.
All trades are my trades.
This is my favorite post every year, but I can never figure out why:
Preseason Power Rankings:
Rank | Team | Pts |
---|---|---|
1. | HungryHungryHaruspex | 2150.85 |
2. | Moridwon (Hamlet) | 2044.81 |
3. | Exploding Pancakes | 2027.48 |
4. | No Use For A Name | 1987.82 |
5. | Nine Inch Neils | 1954.62 |
6. | Peteys | 1946.55 |
7. | New York Fanboys | 1901.30 |
8. | The Great Old Ones | 1811.29 |
9. | Warner’s Brothers | 1787.87 |
10. | Gusterrhoids | 1747.65 |
11. | Formerly Sentimental | 1735.18 |
12. | Ides of Martz | 1703.31 |
I hear that, just wondering out loud if having the last week of the season with a bye-week is at all different than having the championship game on the old week 17. Especially when we have a 2 week cushion for the playoffs.
So the wins/losses from yahoo projections is a little bit silly. It only takes a very slight advantage to be projected to win a lot of games. In the real world, if you’re a 115 to 113 favorite over a team and you play t hem 10 times, you’ll probably go 6-4 or so. But in yahoo, that would count it as a 10-0 projection. So it tends to predict much more extreme results than you would expect in the real world because it’s not really a serious attempt at projection, but rather simply projecting scores and adding up the wins in a winner take all system.
That said, Jules is projected to go 14-0 with the highest projected score and the lowest score against him. I make note of this, because it will be invoked with great anger at a later date when he starts the season 4-6.
Reading the draft recap on yahoo is very silly for dynasty leagues (it will probably think it’s really good that you got Johnathan Taylor in the 8th round and think you’re a bit crazy for taking a third string rookie in the second round), but I found this interesting tidbit:
Not only is my team great, but also quite young, and this also means yahoo tracks years of NFL experience, which I wish you could list somewhere. That’s not quite the same thing as age, but I’d be interested in seeing those stats for everyone without figuring them out manually.
Also, in my previous assessment of my own team, I said that OBJ should be useful for me this year unlike most of last year… and… since I’ve had him, but that having him and Allen Robinson on the same team caps their upside. Well, I thought OBJ re-signed with LAR, and yahoo says he’s on LAR, but apparently he never actually did. He’s a free agent. I’m surprised no one wants him because he was almost super bowl MVP and was starting to have a resurgence last year. Is he going to wash out of the league?
I was projected to go 14-0 last year, too. It just goes to show that all the bitching about horrific injury luck I’ve done is based on actual injuries that have ruined my team for years
I actually keep that exact information for every player on every team. I just track it based on starting rosters, but your starting roster is 3rd youngest at 3.3 years of experience.
Could you post everyone’s rank in roster youth/experience if it’s in an easy to post format?
Sure. This is based on the projected best starting lineup that I use for my team reviews. So here is the average years of experience for each team’s best projected starting roster:
Mundi | 2.9 |
---|---|
Justin | 3.1 |
SenorBeef | 3.3 |
Omni | 3.4 |
Peteys | 3.6 |
RNATB | 4.0 |
Hamlet | 4.3 |
Dale | 4.3 |
Gaffer | 4.5 |
Retro | 5.8 |
Jules | 5.9 |
Ellis | 6.5 |
