(Unofficial) points championship is still up for grabs and it’s a 4 man race. Petey’s is currently in the lead by 20 points, I’m in last, with Ellis and Jules basically tied in the middle, but I have the most players yet to play.
Clearly, navigating the fiery midwest division crucible prepared retro and his boys for the ultimate challenge. Iron sharpens iron.
Ha, I don’t think I’ve ever had an in-season trade.
I’m in the points lead with 1954 points and Jayden Reed and Brandon Aubrey still to play.
Jules has 1949.9 with Bucky Irving and Green Bay D still to play.
Peteys has 1944.15 with Josh Jacobs still to play.
Actually a pretty exciting finish I think.
I still have an outside chance of winning my game. When I posted congratulations to Retro yahoo had us 98/2 and I pretty much counted it as being over, but I’ve rebounded to 16% chance to win. But I think that’s probably overly generous. I would need Jayden Reed and Brandon Aubrey to outscore Ceedee Lamb and Jalen McMillan by 12 points. Reed had some big games early in the year but hasn’t in a while.
I need a big night from Brandon Aubrey in both my leagues. Guess I’ll be rooting for Dallas FGs.
It’s actually turned into a pretty close game.
What is the record for highest scoring championship game? We got to be pretty close.
You’re definitely getting the huge K game.
Brandon Aubrey will be at the center of my 2 decade dynasty.
But I don’t think it’ll be enough. When you have that useless bum Josh Allen putting up 12 points at QB that’s hard to overcome.*
I need 19.05 points out of Jayden Reed, which he hasn’t done since week 4, and he’ll be playing at night in the middle of winter in Green Bay so that’s pretty unlikely.
This week of course is Retro’s highest score of the year. I was curious so I went back and looked - it’s actually his highest score since Week 5 of 2021. So that’s fun.
* I’m sorry Greatest Josh, it is a joke, I love you
It’s more likely to be a cold rain than a repeat of the Ice Bowl tonight
This of course reminds me of Plaxico Burress doing that in the 2007 conference championship, undressing Al Harris with 11 catches for 151 yards. (20.6 points)
For any Giants fans in the house, relive that glorious game in 10 minutes or the full NFL Films version.
Congratulations Retro on your first championship! Great championship game, winning 160 to 150.
Poor Jules put up 182 points this week, but unfortunately scored the lowest points of any playoff team last week so there was no way this 182 could have helped.
Meanwhile, I wrapped up the regular season like gangbusters but then immediately fizzled out for the playoffs, posting 108 both playoff weeks. Ouch.
On the other side of the coin, it looks like Omni is on the clock with the first overall pick, followed by Hamlet, Justin and then RNATB.
My first championship since the Super League.
Congrats, @RetroVertigo! Very well done. Do try to do better than I did defending your championship next year.
Bah. I couldn’t even do a rebuilding year right. Congrats Retro!
I forget, is there a prize for winning the consolation bowl?
I’m really disappointed in myself this year. It’s weird, I was in the race for the Sunbelt and then just couldn’t get past Beef.
I do have two startable every week TE, so I may be looking to move Hockenson or Kittle next year. TE fantasy play this year in the NFL has been all over the place.
Extra money for free agents next year. I think it’s +$10 faab.

I hit a bit of a snag. I’m trying to sort everyone’s points total like I did in post 419, but the points total listed in the league page is just through the end of the regular season. Stattracker through yahoo correctly updated scores through the playoffs when you went to the league standings, and so I assumed they’d be updated in the league page too, but they aren’t. And since the season is done, I can’t see the stattracker stats anymore. I can manually add the playoff game scores to the end of regular season scores to calculate the totals for the top 8 teams, but I don’t see a way to see the week 15 and 16 scores for the bottom 4 teams. Is there somewhere I can get the points total through the playoffs for all teams?
In any case, I’ll do a manual calculation for the 4 teams that were in the running for highest total points:
2024 points champion: PeteysPart2 with 2156.65 points
- PeteysPart2 2156.65
- SenorBeef 2149.60
- Jules Andre 2072.80
- Ellis Dee 2020.5
This really is a yearly thing to hear in these threads.
Week 15 was my lowest score in six years, and only the second time in over two years my team went under 100 points.
This season also puts me at the second highest win percentage all time (one game behind Stringer in the same time played), and a sub-.500 playoff win percentage. That gives my team the second worst discrepancy between regular season win% and playoff win% (excluding Omni since his sample is too small) of any team in this league’s history.
In other observations, Beef’s season total without playoffs is the 16th highest in league history, and Omni’s season total (obviously without playoffs) is the lowest of any team all time. He just barely beat out his own record from last year.
The bottom four teams do not have scores for weeks 15 and 16. They do not play games, therefore they do not set their starting rosters.
I assume they just leave their rosters as-is after week 14 ends. I know that’s what I did during those many, many years I finished in the bottom four. And a bunch of NFL teams had a bye during week 14, so week 14 starters will likely not be representative of who would have started in weeks 15 and 16.
Oddly, I could have changed my lineup for the playoffs I wasn’t in, but I didn’t bother.
