My kingdom for a field goal…
Ellis needs Butker to score a 50+ yard field goal to send it to overtime… and then not have the Jags score in OT.
Petey squeaked out the kicker battle against Ellis Dee, leaving me the final undefeated team at 5-0.
Spiritus Mundi went off this week with the highest score of 151 points, which is the highest score of the year.
Four teams are 4-1. Unfortunately we’re still getting more polarized with the bottom teams already far behind the top teams.
I have regained the points lead by a whole 4 points from Ellis Dee.
This week is the first of our rivalry weeks (the other being the last game of the regular season). I want to thank Jules again for setting up such a nice custom schedule for us. Petey and are playing for the division lead as well as Jules and Ellis Dee. Should be a big week that has the potential to shake things up.
Oof, made a couple judgment calls that cost me that game.
I had been riding Mayfield all season until I swapped in Jordan Love when he got to go against the Cowboys defense. Then with Love on a bye, I decide to give Daniel Jones a try for the first time this season. Doh! Cost me 12 points compared to going back to Mayfield, which I knew I should have done.
And then because I was starting Daniel Jones I no longer wanted to start Michael Pittman, who has been scoring a bunch for me all season. So I benched him for Quentin Johnston, because I so much want him to be an actual good receiver. That cost me another 7 points.
On the plus side, at least my incorrect picks still scored roughly their projections, so it’s not like they killed me.
(I also started LaPorta for the first time this season over Kelce, but they both scored around 17 so that was moot.)
I’m starting to feel like Mixon is done. As in, never to play again. Unfortunately he was my #2 back.
The frustrating part is this wasn’t a normal injury where you see the guy get injured and then get a timetable. With Mixon, the only info is that it’s a “foot issue” – which apparently he has a history of – and no timetable has ever been given. Starting the season on the PUP/NFI list meant the first four weeks were out, but now it’s week six. News from this week is grim: They’ll check again in 3-4 weeks and see which direction he’s going. Out for season is a real possibility.
I guess Go Go Skattebo! Yeesh.
This is why I was so aggressive trying to get Woody Marks this draft, and why I won’t trade him anytime soon (he’s also awesome on film). News about Mixon was really bad if you read between the lines before the season. I don’t think Mixon is done, but he’s going to miss this season unless Houston is in the playoff mix. And he’s getting cut after this year, anyway. Same with Chubb, probably.
My team has been so devastated with injuries, but by some chance of scheduling luck I’ve managed 3 wins.
If I just won the stupid championship last year I’d be on quite a run.
It’s looking like Drake Maye is probably going to be a pretty good fantasy QB but I’m not sure I can really play matchups with him vs the greatest Josh. I’m not sure if I should try to move him or just be content to have the QB position locked up for another 200 years.
BTJ is scoring points which is the first time this year. Not sure if he’s actually playing well. The one highlight I saw of his TD was wide open broken coverage so it wasn’t like he overcame his alligator arm scared play thing for that one. But it’s nice to have a fantasy relevant performance from the guy
54 yard BTJ TD called back because Travis Hunter had his foot in the neutral zone. Kind of a ridiculous penalty to get for a WR. Damn. At least it’s nice to see some life there.
I don’t know who I should root for between Jules and Ellis.
I might actually think about trading away Josh Allen with as good as 23 year old Maye has looked. But I don’t know if I could actually pull the trigger given that he’s the love of my life
Gotta have two quarterbacks in this league. One follow through onto a helmet and Maye is just taking to a roster spot. I was in roster hell for years because I didn’t care about QB depth.
David Montgomery can be my backup quarterback. A passing TD in back to back weeks.
I fucked up but hopefully it won’t matter and I would have lost anyway thanks to poor performances from Saquon and Puka.
I saw Quentin Johnston was going to be a game time decision so I moved him over to w/t so that I could replace him with Kelce if he couldn’t go.
Unfortunately I was a little under the weather this weekend and ended up forgetting to post that notice to the thread before I passed out for like 14 hours Saturday night.
C’est la vie.
After having a big lead earlier in the weekend this last stretch is a little too close to comfort. I should’ve benched Deebo who I knew was injured – I was going to replace him with Kendrick Bourne who ended up scoring 16 points. Had I done that I’d probably be sitting comfortably.
Sadly, it appears I would have won easily if I started Kelce.
Turns out it didn’t matter and you won without setting a full lineup, anyway. This is my second loss by less than half a point this season, and my player had a touchdown called back due to a nonsense call.
Oof, my condolences. That is a seriously bad beat. We’ll see how it shakes out if there are any corrections tomorrow or Wednesday.
I am muchly butthurt over this loss because I could’ve swapped a hurt Deebo out for any of my other receivers and won this game. And I was 80%+ projection pretty much all day yesterday so I thought I had this one. Oh well, the last undefeated team goes down.
My Week 6 score has to be the running away favorite for lowest score in history of the league.
I don’t know if this is good or bad news, but it isn’t even in the bottom three lowest scores. It’s 5th lowest, according to my record, anyway. Ol_Gaffer apparently managed just 39.28 points in 2022
