But you’re right. In this league, potential starting, young RBs are treasured by a large margin more than actual starting RBs. It’s much more fun to play the “Find the stud RB” lottery than to have a guy who actually starts and produces. I would be willing to bet that most people in this league would prefer Blake Corum to Kyren Williams, Kyle Monananananagie to Swift, and Tuten to Etienne right now. It’s all about the RB lottery tickets.
The Ides of Martz coming in with a big W. Who’da thunk it? Odds are good that I’ll finish the week with the 2nd highest point total.
Got a huge game from Caleb, timed perfectly with both Fields and Jayden being hurt this week, and at least so far the Jeanty-Judkins trade is working out great. If that damn MHJ pick from a couple seasons ago hadn’t been a colossal bust I may actually have something going here.
Skattebo looks like a producer; I may have to give him Pittman’s starting spot until Mixon comes back. (Texans need Mixon even more than I do.) Then again, Pittman is having his own renaissance with Danny Dimes feeding him the ball.
I’m happiest about Quentin Johnston turning into a real receiver. Yahoo projections haven’t caught up yet; I rank him as my #3, ahead of DJ Moore, Pittman and Hollywood. Yahoo projections love DJ Moore beyond all reason.
Blake Corum showing signs of life with the Rams here in year 2, and Ollie Gordon turning it on as a rookie, both posting around 10 points this week. If they can both turn into real RBs I’ll be looking good.
Shout out to Baker Mayfield for having an iron grip on my starting lineup. Not only has Jordan Love not gotten a start for me yet, I think I’m demoting him down to 3rd behind Danny Dimes. All that fanfare trading for Love and he can’t even crack my starting lineup. And now with Jones playing so well I’m stuck with 4 QBs like a gomer.
It wasn’t looking good for me going into Monday night but then David Montgomery went off for 28 points. I have the second highest points scored against me this season so far but I’ve managed to start 3-0 with the highest score after 3 weeks anyway. Peteys and Ellis Dee are close behind in points and also started 3-0.
No one with a high score lost this week, though Jules won with the third lowest score.
Yahoo’s season long projections seem slower to adjust to me than they did last year though I don’t know if that’s actually the case. I’ve moved from 7th to 6th in power rankings (expected points scored in the remaining season), but only gained 150 points of projected total for the season, with about half of that simply because I’ve already scored it. It is projecting a winning record and a playoff record now though. The wildcard race is going to be tough.
Looks like I caught a break with Jaylen Warren being a surprise scratch in the early international game. RNATB didn’t get up in time to switch him out of his lineup. At the last minute, I decided to swap in Warren’s backup, Gainwell, and he had a fantastic game. He should have had another 1-2 TDs because he was tackled inside the 2 twice.
But, if you’re new around here, no good luck of mine ever goes unpunished twice over. So of course Malik Nabers immediately destroys his knee and is probably done for the year plus. Every trade I “win” becomes a loss eventually.
Peteys drops one, which leaves Ellis and I as the only undefeated teams. Ellis scored the most this week and passed me for the overall scoring lead. We’re relatively polarized early on after 4 weeks with only two teams going 2-2.
I looked ahead in the schedule to see when I played Ellis because the last two undefeated teams playing each other would be fun, but it’s not until week 8. I doubt we’ll both by undefeated by then.
JCM went off which brought Peteys back into the game with Ellis Dee and now it’s around 50/50 for a very important matchup. I was a little torn on who to root for. Logically it’s much better if Ellis wins because Petey is a much bigger competitor being in my division, but if he loses I get to be the last undefeated player which is satisfying.
It’d be pretty tough for you to come back since your players are kind of working against each other – 2 RBs from the same team, and the defense from the other team, so even if those 2 RBs have huge games, the defense would pay for it in score.
