SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year 17

Peteys has a 13 point lead over Dale. Dale has no players left to play. Petey’s has Justin Jefferson. Yahoo projects Petey as a 97% favorite, which means… they think there’s a 3% chance Justin Jefferson scores -13 points?

Jules vs Justin is almost exactly 50/50 going into Monday night. Jules needs 9.85 points out of Odunze.

Omni needs Cole Kmet to outscore Carlos Santos by a point.

Fuck you, Josh.

Judkins is signed and practicing. The Jags just traded away Bigsby. Things are looking up for the Ides of Martz.

Trade to announce:

Jules gives up:
RB Bucky Irving

Spiritus gives up:
WR Malik Nabers

That trade seems pretty lopsided. The keeptradecut calculator would call it fair if you added a 2026 first rounder.

I don’t like to second guess people’s trade decisions but I agree that’s a pretty bad one. Malik Nabers is probably somewhere around the 5th most valuable dynasty asset and Bucky Irving is somewhere in the 20s. Nabers will still be producing at a top level years after Bucky Irvin probably will be a back up roleplayer somewhere, and Nabers is probably more productive and valuable now.

That said, Mundi very well may have a different opinion and I’m sure there’s nothing fishy going on I’m sure so it’s a valid trade. I can’t see a case where we’d really step in except for perhaps if someone started trading away a ton of picks for their future we might start to get concerned about their longevity in the league. Or, I suppose, if there were a new owner that were inexperienced at dynasty and made a trade that made more sense in a redraft than it did in dynasty perhaps?

Insane trade, but not dirty. Just Jules doing Jules things.

Every time we seem to wrong our hands over a trade, it turns out not to matter in like a year.

I still remember people wanting blood when I traded away to Kyle Orton to Beef for somebody considered not his equal and IIRC he retired before the season was over.

I do remember when this league seemed to be on the verge of folding because I traded for Deshaun Watson.

I actually had to sit on this one for a while because losing Irving hurts my team overall this year. Plus, strengthening a big weakness on a division rival isn’t the best idea, usually. I’m not entirely comfortable only having two primary backs. Not that anyone is beating Peteys this year

That one is so old I didn’t even remember what you were talking about. I looked it up and it’s all the way back to year 2. Kyle Orton and Tony Gonzalez for Eddie Royal. None of those players ended up being relevant for long, though Tony Gonzalez ended up sticking around for a couple years after he seemed like he’d retire. Only Stringer seemed very upset about it.

This level of exaggeration doesn’t really add to the discussion. This league has never been on the verge of folding and certainly not over a trade.

A reminder that yahoo defaults to a 48 hour trade window, but if both people involved in a trade want the trade to be pushed through faster, just express that preference when announcing the trade and I will push it through. Since no one mentioned pushing the trade through this time, I haven’t done so, but let me know before game time if that’s what you intended to do.

It was silly of me to start Josh Allen when I have Drake Maye on my team

I guess I should have spoken up to have the trade processed right away, but I wanted one more week of a full RB room. Ah, well

Field goal scoring shouldn’t stop at 50+, there should be a 60+ category with a higher score. Beautiful Brandon Aubrey just scored a 64 yarder.

I would like Malik Nabers to stop scoring please.

In most formats I think that trade would be a bit unfair, but RBs with volume are like gold dust in this league. (I didn’t think Nabers was going to go off today.)

Not in my experience. I have tried to move Javonte Williams, Jordan Mason, and (pre-injury) Austin Ekeler multiple times with no takers.

An RB who could be a Saquon/Herny type is pure gold. An RB who will probably be part of a time share in most seasons is not. Bucky, in spite of his big rookie year, doesn’t have the look of a long term workhorse. We’ll see. If he’s getting 25+ carries a game in year 4 maybe we will re-evaluate.

I was watching the end of that Chargers/Raiders game pretty closely as Petey and Jules had very close games that came down to it. Jules lost by 0.3 points after needing just a little bit of anything out of Jeanty or Bowers at the end. Peteys had to dodge a few points out of Jakobi Meyers after it seemed like Geno Smith was forcing him the ball, and he does and wins by 3 points to start 2-0.

I was lucky that Mundi’s Burrow got injured mid-game otherwise I would’ve lost. Not how I like to win but a win is a win. If Mundi had ended up starting Goff instead he’d have the highest score of the week by far.

Despite Yahoo projecting me to finish 7th this year I’ve started 2-0 with the highest core in the league so far.

I suppose I deserve that after winning in week 1 on a last minute garbage time TD. Eventually my team will hit projections

Okay, young RBs. And I might take you up on your Williams offer in a couple of weeks when Rashee Rice comes back. I can’t afford to give up a WR right now with the Browns not feeding Jeudy.
